"Closest lodging to North Cascades NP, convenient for hikers and visitors, would NOT be convenient for people traveling with kids. Rooms are small but well-appointed, parking was sufficient. We stayed on the first floor in a Queen with private, attached bath. Upstairs rooms share a bathroom. Check-in was easy once we figured out which door to go in, other guests were polite (yes, you can hear people walking above you and down the stairwell, but it wasn't bad), and the deep plush carpet was a lovely balm to sore feet after long hikes. The floors are a little sloped (historic building) and the shower was small and had a leaky showerhead, but the water was warm and plentiful. Great vibes, loved the decor of the place. Easy walk across the bridge to a great park with a boat launch, easy walk to Mondo's and Upriver restaurants. No staff onsite but there were great snacks in the mini-fridges and on the microwave, with coffee. Very clean. Check out equally as easy as check in. Highly recommend for couples. Definitely only room for 2 people in a room."
