I used to find Hampton Inns to be suitable places to stay. However, after staying at the one in downtown Charleston a few years ago and now this one on Daniel Island I am done. I arrived Thursday night and was departing Saturday. I was gone most of Friday and when I returned the room had not been cleaned up. I politely asked if this could be done and was informed it was only done every other day. While Daniel Island is a beautiful area this hotel has to be described as a huge disappointment. At a comparable price point I would highly recommend the Hyatt House in Mt. Pleasant over this .

Room was clean and staff was very nice. My only issue is the curtains. I could not sleep the first night because of the sheer curtain and outside lights. I looked for a way to close but we could not find one. The next day someone showed me that there is a third row of curtains tucked all the way back. Ridiculous!! The heavy first row of curtains should be able to close all the way!!

The room staff. upon checking in I was informed that they cleaned the rooms every other day unless requested. I immediately requested that my room be cleaned every day. In addition when I left the next morning to go out for a few hours, I informed them I wanted my room cleaned. In addition I gave them the room numbers of family members who were staying in other rooms who also wanted their rooms clean when we came back to change for dinner. None of the rooms were cleaned. . I I went down to the front desk and I told them I would like someone to come clean the rooms after four as we were changing for dinner and when I went back up, they were in my room. No one on the staff understood English as I was trying to explain to them to please come back in an hour as I needed to take a shower and change for dinner six rooms a family members that were staying there or not cleaned. It was very frustrating.

The level of service was amazing. The hotel room’s sink would not drain and they changed our room right away. Frank from front desk was very courteous, and texted throughout the stay. Breakfast staff kept area clean and well stocked. Bottled water available on request was very helpful. We had a late checked out, and forgot a few hanging items. Called later that evening they located them and we were able to retrieve them. This hotel and its staff gave excellent service. Not often found these days.

The service at the front desk was excellent - both at check in and on departure! We were only there to sleep for two nights while we moved our daughter into her new apartment. The kindness shown to us was an added bonus as we were totally exhausted. We left at 2 a.m. to make the long drive back to Illinois, and the front desk person was so kind - even gave us bottled water for our trek! The room was clean and comfortable as well.

The front desk staff were very kind, but the room and the breakfast area definitely lacking. We found 2 live bugs in the room. We notified the desk, they said they treated. The next morning we found one moving on a pillow. The shower had two setting freezing or scalding hot. The handle would not stay at a normal temp. When searching to see if there were more bugs, to see if there was debris from possible bed bugs, we found old liquor bottles and moldy skittles. At breakfast, the attendant dropped tongs on the floor, picked them up and put them directly back on the counter. I asked him if he was going to replace them and he acted like I was crazy. He ultimately didn’t replace them. Needless to say we opted to not eat the breakfast. This is not Hilton hotel quality and we will not be backs

Room seemed very clean. The faucet in the tub/shower needs some work. Also, a tub mat should be provided as the tub is very slippery. We are older/seniors and it was a bit uncomfortable in the shower without a mat. The toilet seat also was loose. We reported this to the front desk upon check-out. The staff were terrific and very courteous and helpful. We would definitely stay at the Hampton Inn Charleston-Daniel Island in the future!

The room was clean. Although there was a black long hair on a towel though. There was a dryer drying a rug in front of a room across the hall that was loud on the first night. There was a mosquito in our room and a spider on the ceiling the first night too. Other than that, the room was clean. The staff at the front desk and the woman working the breakfast our first morning were all very nice and very friendly. The gym was fun but the water cooler didn’t work. The area is lovely around the hotel.
