Vi havde booket 2 overnatninger for at se den totale solformørkelse 8. April 2024, det var et dejligt motel med en god beliggenhed og meget serviceminded vært.

I can't say enough about Mike & the K River Motel and Campground! We had a fabulous time! I will stay there anytime I have to be in Southern Illinois!! Thank You for the best Eclipse Party I have ever been too!!

I love this place! We were there for the solar eclipse 4/7, 4/8, 4/9 2024 What a great time! Mike is so sweet & welcoming! When it says we treat you like family, he means it. We even started acting like it! Mike had a cookout planned with burgers, brats, potato salad. I feel blessed that I stumbled across the K River Motel and Campground last year while looking for a place to stay for the 2024 Eclipse. It was the perfect place and the other guests were fabulous too! We had such a great time, great day and the Moon and Sun did not disappoint. I picked it for price, but will stay there again just for the pleasure of it!! Thank you so much Mike!! I hope to be back again ... maybe a 4/8/24 Eclipse Reunion ~ June and Vicky

Caretaker was nice on the phone, but I never met him. Towels and sheets were stained, but smelled clean. I had to travel 7-8 miles to get to a restaurant or store. It's called K river, but the river is miles away. I had to call and ask for the wifi password. No ice machine to fill up my drinking cup, but could buy bagged ice. I killed 1 spider and saw another and a web popped up overnight in the bathroom. Debris on the bathroom floor that was not removed during cleaning. Surprisingly loud road noise for being in the middle of nowhere. No lamp or light switch within reach of the bed. Good price.

The rooms were clean and the outside appearance was very welcoming. We ended up getting a Queen bed because the King bed had been already booked. We knew this ahead of time because the manager called us. My husband and I are not petite individuals. So I asked if the Queen was a full size queen, but I didn't ask the condition of the bed. We could hear the bed springs as we got into bed and my husband woke up very sore back. We both didn't have a very good nights sleep. If the bed had been updated everything would have been excellent.

I definitely recommend this motel experience!

This is a great, informal place to stay. Yeah, there are more modern, mainstream motels with more luxurious furnishings, but if you want a comfortable location close by the best recreational opportunities in the county for fishing, shooting, boating, etc., there is no better place. The owner is conscientious and gives you personalized service to ensure that you are well accommodated and safe. The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable and very cozy. Parking is right in front and rooms are accessible. I felt right at home and enjoyed my evening relaxing in room. There is enough food and entertainment nearby to also check out. I will stay here regularly from now on.

Great hospitality

We drove 5 hours to Baldwin to see the historic solar eclipse and we were greeted by the very friendly and hospitable owner. He showed us how to operate the direct TV and made us feel welcome. Before we arrived, we were a little concerned with the overbooked situation with all the hotel rooms in the area. We were relieved after we were able to check in. The owner offered some NASA presentation in the evening before the eclipse. We could not take advantage of it because we needed to get a feel of the area before the big day. He also offered some grill burgers the next morning. Again, we could not stay because we had to get situated for the event. However, we really appreciate his thoughtfulness trying to provide the extras. Totally unexpected gestures. We had a great stay in Baldwin.
