"Located at the former University of Canterbury, the refurbished rooms are in an old gray brick building. Located in east walking distance to downtown and across the street from the Botanical Garden, it was ideal for our brief stay in Christchurch. Staff was helpful. No breakfast but there are places close by. May be challenging for people with special needs (walking issues) as there are stairs throughout. That said, they may have accommodation available."

"Everything was spectacular except the breakfasts. No healthy options for bread or yogurt nor sliced fruit. But most importantly they make the coffees for you (not self serve) and they took forever and didn’t seem to understand what you were asking for."

"What a fantastic stay at The George! The room was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. I especially appreciated the gluten-free options available, which made my stay much easier and more enjoyable. Having access to a laundry room was another great convenience during my travels. The location is perfect for walking, with wonderful paths and beautiful surroundings to explore. The gym is excellent and well-equipped, making it easy to keep up with my routine while away from home. The...

"An exposed wire on the electrical cord for the in house coffee making machine was not noticed by cleaning staff but we saw it immediately when wanting to make a coffee, but luckily, the whole coffee making machine was quickly replaced by management. The toilet seat was misaligned to almost being broken in the Peacock suite. The bathroom shower leaked at the door with water making both the bathrooms floor mat sodden, and also a potential slip on the wet tiles."

"Hotel is in a great location; walking distance everywhere I wanted to go but still very quiet. Comfy bed, good water pressure and loads of hot water. Nice soap. Shampoo,conditioner,body cream. Nice fluffy towels. Staff very pleasant and accomodating, would be nice to have plunger coffee or at least a decent coffee bag instead of just instant. I didn’t eat at the restaurant because I thought that the prices were high and plenty of less expensive options close by."
