De Vere Cotswold Water Park
6/10 Okay
"The property is in a beautiful nature reserve area with lots of activities to do if on holiday. The hotel has lovely views, modern and spacious. However lots of niggly things made the stay un-relaxing and felt like they were just out to charge every part of your stay extra fees and if i could have cancelled my stay and gone elsewhere I would have. E.g. if your room is already before check in time you are asked to pay an early check in fee which is the first I've come across this. Also not able to use the amenities as they are all an extra fee, no complimentary use of the pool which again is a first for me in hotels and not mentioned on Expedia. In the brasserie the food was fine however there never seemed to be enough waiters and only saw them again when we'd almost finished our meal, mine was missing items and the creme brulee was not set and runny. We were going through a heatwave and the rooms do not have AC or fans which is definitely needed on the top floor, it was so hot we couldn't sleep. I understand due to being in the location they are they couldn't add AC however fans could be installed easily, plus the bedding was still heavy winter duvets and no light sheets,. Reception were very helpful to move us rooms due to ours not having net curtains so our neighbours could easily see into our room from their balcony which was one plus."

Corinium Hotel & Restaurant
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful hotel 5 mins from town where there are lots of shops, cafes and pubs. The staff at the hotel were all fantastic from the moment we arrived and throughout. The room had everything needed for our 1 night stay. The hotel itself was very charming with a lovely bar area and restaurant area too. Breakfast was amazing with so much choice. The outside garden area was also a lovely place to relax in the sunshine with a morning coffee or afternoon drink, plenty of space, tables and umbrellas. We felt very comfortable and would definitely recommend 100%."

Stratton House Hotel & Spa
6/10 Okay
"Great hotel, beautiful building. Appreciating the hotel is family owned, it could do with a little modern tlc TV didn’t work in the bedroom for channels 1-4. Extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work, towels are quite old, Check your dinner bill, we had 3 bottles of wine added to the bill but we’d only had 1 £25 bottle. We were being charged for 2 x £45 bottles we’d not had. When we called to get the tv satellite sorted in our bedroom it was the waiter and head waiter who attended our room #faultytowers Could be 5* but I’m reluctant to give it more than 3*, £200 for 1 night without breakfast is expensive for mother and daughter aged 83 & 52. We’ll shop around n xx time."
