It's a difficult thing to respond to. I'd forgotten how much central otago prices outweigh quality. The bed was comfortable but the room was incredibly dated and backed onto a very noisy commercial kitchen. The host was excellent and informative but the breakfast was terrible. The setting is spectacular and it was the first time in about 7 years we had had a chance to have a weekend away, we really enjoyed it. Just ensure that if you want to go out for dinner in Clyde, make sure you book ahead and remember that the night n day can't sell alcohol after 7pm. And vaping or smoking on the premises could cost you $250. And our neighbours were very noisy. It is what it is and we had a good time.

It was our second 'Date Night' in Clyde where we had dinner at the Post Office, saw a movie and stayed at the Dunstan Hotel. This time we had the Fountain room. It was gorgeous, had it's own ensuite and was definitely something a little special.

What a magical place to stay. The former hotel us like stepping back in time. I was so charmed by the decor, by the authentic touches, by the upstaurs verandah. Clyde is also a lovely place for a post dinner meander. Highly recommended for something a bit special. Lovely hosts

Historical authentic house with great modern amenities. The setting is beautiful just a shourt walk to the river and trails. The cafes are close by. The service from the staff is excellent. The breakfast is delicious and the cafe food is great.

Lovely stay in the heart of Clyde

Dunstan House is a fantastic place to stay when visiting Clyde. Beautiful historic building, with an ideal location in the very centre of town. My room was good value, bed very comfortable and shared bathroom was well appointed and super clean. Shower was great! The verandah was a great place to relax and watch the world go by. Continental breakfast was lovely, great coffee and the cafe food looked awesome. The bike shelter was handy if arriving by bike when cycling the Lake Dunstan Trail. Ian and Meredith are hospitable and friendly hosts, definitely recommend a stay at Dunstan House! Thank you.

This is not just a historical hotel. It was a unique, hotel experience that feels like living in a different time / era but with hot showers, electricity and a place to park & charge my e-bike. I absolutely enjoyed my 2 nights at the Dunstan Hotel.

A great place to stay

Wonderful helpful hosts in a comfortable, characterful hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again. The accommodation is great value and even includes an excellent continental breakfast. The bath in our ensuite was a blessing after a day on the bike! Highly recommend.

Great historic place that has a real cachet. Really nice hosts. Quiet, comfy and clean (even with a room that has the shared bathroom option). Small continental breakfast was included. Good option for someone looking to avoid the really expensive accomodations in QT (it's at about 1h15min by car).

Adorable B & B in the heart of Clyde

Very cute, historic hotel. The staff were very kind, and the charm incredible. As with older hotels, not a lot of space, and no options for organizing or putting stuff away, but otherwise, really lovely.

A truly unique stay. Up to modern standards, no one ever Modernized the Look of this 1898 hotel. It’s like stepping back in time. Loved the comfy seat on the veranda watching the world go by. The proprietors were very friendly and set up a great continental breakfast in the downstairs cafe. Loved it!
