Great hotel
The staff is super helpful, they would go beyond and more to accommodate the guest. We’ve arrived very late and food was delivered without any hesitation. The room was clean and very spacious, lots of bathroom amenities and beautifully presented toiletries. We have had access to the bamboo garden, which is very nice to stay in the evening. Breakfast is served at high standard, the food selection is good. We have also had lunch and dinner at their restaurant. They are specialising in Japanese cuisine. The meals were great! The atmosphere in entire hotel is superb. Didn’t know what to expect, but after a visit we’re blown away!!!

This is a unique experience. Not your topical hotel stay. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The place was clean. They have a good Japanese restaurant on site

Stayed for 3 nights. The room was clean and comfortable except for the last night. It could be because I extended my stay for a night and some staffs don't know about it until much later in the day. Generally, I'm happy with my stay there. Would stay again for my future trips to Colombo.

V nice property - ideal for a short stay. one of the best Japanese restaurants in town. One thing i found missing in reviews was a nearby party street or pubs which are a local attraction. I would highly recommend to go to park street. its a 20 min walk or a 5-7 min tuk tuk ride. there are several pubs and restaurant on the same street. Italian restaurant over there was one of the best italian i have had and pubs around there were a great place to hang out for late night drinks. Not a V cheap place but decently priced

Sleep is not a luxury!
Room 203 was noisy, you woke up at 6:30 AM to the bread sellers loudspeaker. On Friday and Saturday night locals frequent the resteraunt and the noise makes sleep an impossibility. The staff clean up after they leave is so noisy you cannot sleep till 1:30 AM. Mattress is not hotel quality and the pillows were lumpy. No vegan/vegetarian options for breakfast. Checked out early after 9 nights of poor sleep.

Lovely boutique hotel in good area of Colombo.
Friendly welcoming staff and a homely feel to the hotel. Whatever we asked for was brought and reservations made for restaurants in an obliging manner. Colombo 7 is a very convenient area to stay as it’s not far from most places you want to go.

Spoiled at the beginning of our trip
We had a great time at Zylan, where we stayed for 3 nights after arriving in Sri Lanka. We arrived early, but were shown to our booked room immediately. Unfortunately the room smelled of smoke, but staff didn't hesitate to upgrade us to a much larger (and smoke-free) room. Once there, we got our tasty welcome drinks! The room was very comfortable and in excellent shape with a large bathroom with a great shower. Staff was always extremely helpful during our stay. The only thing that wasn't perfect was breakfast. There were plenty of options for breakfast, but the English skills of one of the waiters were somewhat poor, so it was always a bit of a gamble to see whether what we were served matched the order or not. Also, the tables in the open-air breakfast area were very popular with tiny ants. We were assured that an exterminator would address the issue after we left, so hopefully other guests won't have the same issue. All in all we can highly recommend Zylan Luxury Villa

It could not have been a better experience. The hotel is beautiful. Rooms were a delight. Cleaned daily which was not the norm in many places in SriLanka. Wonderful staff and we enjoyed incredible Sri Lankan breakfasts. Would highly recommend.

Poor customer service from management
There were some good things about this hotel, such as the location, rooftop pool, and some of the staff were very nice, but the stay was spoilt by some very poor customer service and a bad attitude from the management. We ended up having to check out early due to this, and spending time to resolve a mix up with payment upon checkout. There was also quite a bit of noise at the hotel with work going on which we were not informed about, which meant it wasn't so relaxing. Shame as the villa itself is very nice, but we will not be back.

Great roof top restaurant and view.
The hotel is very clean. The view from the roof top pool is fantastic. We used it for an over night stop before going on a tour of the country and it was ideal for this. The Japanese restaurant on the roof was excellent in service and quality. Breakfast service was a little disorganised. We received the wrong order at very sporadic times but the waitress was very friendly and trying her best.

Stylish hotel with great staff and food.
We just stayed one night after a long flight and it was a perfect place to recuperate. The staff were great . We ate at the Zen restaurant on the roof and the food was excellent. Room was stylish and quiet for a busy city - the bed was very comfortable. We were catching a sea plane from Waters Edge the next day so it was also a good location.

Convenient, quiet relaxed "home" style luxuryvilla
We stay here often - good quiet villa which is reasonably located to get around - rooftop pool which is small but useful to get a bit of sunshine. Rooms have all the basics but vary in size - but all good for a short stay. The suite is very big and well appointed if you want to spend a bit extra. They have a Japanese restaurant on the roof as well - reasonable food but a bit pricey - but handy on nights we fly home. Breakfast is basic but it very pleasant on the patio next to a Japanese garden. The staff are very good and keen to help. We like it because we can have business meetings there in a relaxed comfortable environment.

Amazing stay!
Staying at Zylan's was the greatest experience we had in Sri Lanka! We met the owner in person, luckily. And she was a very sweet and nice lady. She gave us so many good tips for traveling in Sri Lanka. She also recommended us for car rental during our chat, due to we are going to a new city every single day, and we have kids and luggages, which turned out to be a great decision! Overall, I would totally recommend staying at Zylan's and would personally go back again!

We stayed 3 nights here. Its central and quiet at the same time. We appreciated the homely feel to the place. A welcome break from the big chain hotels. The Japanese restaurant in the rooftop was also great! Since they did not serve alcohol, they allowed us to bring our own bottle of wine for our dinner without corkage fees.

Great little quiet boutique.
We were delighted to find such an exclusive little hideaway at such a reasonable price, the hotel has a particularly Zen feel about it (as you might expect!). The staff were really helpful and the location very convenient for Columbo 7. The only criticism was the slightly smelly drains in room 203.
