She could tell me the hotel was closed for winter but she had an other hotel in town called Hotel Platani Bolsena. "Spectacular 200 year old stone building with an amazing view. Beautiful well equipped and spacious apartment. The only issue was we are travelling by bicycle and the road up to the accommodation was greater than 12% grade and all gravel. Very difficult to get to. For other cyclists know ahead of time that you have a significant uphill push but worth it when you get to the top."

"This is huge monastery with the fabulous furnishings intact. The place is spotless. It has a gorgeous catheral. The city is medium walk up a fairly steep road. You can also use your car and drive to the top of the hill and walk in to the city center"

The reason for 3 stars is they charged one couple in our group 80eu PER NIGHT for a pack and play (folding crib) for their infant. Most hotels provide this for free or 5-10Eu. For that price, they could provide a brand new one each night and let them take it home. That's our only complaint, otherwise it was a nice place to stay. "
