"The Patrician Hollywood exceeded our expectations. We chose it for a short stay to get to know downtown LA and Pasadena arts, culture and food. TJ is an engaging host, with a wealth of local knowledge and the sophistication of a world traveler. The house is a perfect example of 1920s LA style (it could be a movie set), decorated with an eye for the exotic and comfortable. The views of the LA basin from the garden are expansive. The local streets are quiet (and excellent for a morning run)."

"The hotel property is very run down. Our first room smelled like cigarettes upon entry. We asked for another room and this second room smelled a lot better but was still not great. The cleaning staff had left a used cleaning glove on the floor. The floors were also not very clean. Overall would not return. Property also charges $40 a night for parking onsite. Pros: Location is great and walkable to old town."

"Room was outdated. AC did not work so the whole time we were sweating, felt horrible. We told front desk about it and all they were able to do was send us a fan. Disappointed.."

"I personally like no service during my stay. I didn't have to put don't bother sign up, just asked and they complied. Staff is super nice and great area. I stayed in the same room I did last year. It's clean and has a TV with cable. Rather large dresser....with wide / low top...great for travelers. It might be a "dated" paint/ decor...but it's nice. No breakfast, staff is always available. "

"The swimming pool was being ripped out and at 9:00AM the jackhammer was loudly working away. No coffee machines in the room and the free breakfast wasn’t available because the guest kitchen was being renovated (or removed). No backup toilet paper or tissues in the room and the trash cans were full when I came back, but the constant item seen both days was a reminder to tip the cleaning staff. "Stately old hotel in the heart of Pasadena. Could use some updating. Room temperature was difficult to control. Very limited storage space. Rooms are small. Some bathroom fixtures needed repair. But generally a pleasant hotel for short (2-4 days) stay."

"Location was excellent! Very quiet,lots of restaurants,what I did not like is the room they gave me was in the first floor my room smell like sewer ! And at the breakfast area in the morning there was a homeless guy throwing stuff at the pool..the front desk guy attended at night was not to kind 😔other than that is ok 👍"
