Lakes Hotel and Spa

Lakes Hotel and Spa

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed for a few nights at the end of July. The hotel itself had good facilities - a lovely spa area and swimming pool, a "pub" underneath the spa/next to the pool, and a balcony area where food was also served. The view over the lake from the balcony was nice, and the food was excellent. It was nice and quiet, and location wise it was a few minutes walk to the lake and then on to Bowness itself. The only downside is that there's no ski lift up to the hotel after a hard day's hillwalking :D In terms of the bedroom - the bed was comfy and the room was quiet and clean. The furniture was overall good, and the bathroom was a bit small but definitely functional. The only major knock is that there's no air-conditioning, only one desk fan. This was ok when we went, but would no doubt have been very difficult if we had gone during one of the heatwaves. Overall though, I'd recommend staying at Lakes (also - visiting the Lake District in general!)"

8/10 Good
"Room was ok, nothing fancy, staff were very helpful , breakfast was good, parking was also good. the ground's down to the lake was such a lovely space, and peaceful. The evening food was good, but the only thing for staying guest's was there was no proper lounge to relax in, only a small snug, away from the noisy bar area and lots of dog's."

"Basic hotel very well located. The ground floor rooms are very dated. Have stayed before and upper level rooms are far superior. Will return but won’t take a lower floor room."
