"This enormous old house in a delightful Portland neighborhood was a delight. (EXPEDIA was NOT a delight, however, because it failed to send me the key code I needed to get into the building. "The bar closes at 10. The restaurant won't seat you without a "reservation" even though it's half empty. They probably have a staff shortage but won't admit it. Lobby tables left un-bussed. We had to do it ourselves. Room service, vacuums, etc are left in the hall for multiple days, let alone hours. And those nice, clear shower doors? Accumulated soap scum from previous guests. The beds were comfortable and the rooms quiet, which was the most important. Overall, a disappointing experience."

"We regularly stay at the Woodlark for the location. It’s expensive so we keep a lookout for when their rates are lower than their typical price. The beds are super comfortable. The soap and lotions are divine. It’s downtown in a safe area. It’s easy to access other parts of Portland by car from here. We self park at a relatively near parking garage on 10th which is much cheaper than the valet service."

"I enjoyed our stay. Loved the room. The fireplace was a nice touch. My only complaint if I can really call it that, is the resort fee. What “amenities” warrant an extra charge? According to the website, a comfy bed, a virtual concierge and a spiritual library. I mean I guess I could have asked for a Bagavad Gita to be brought to my room at midnight but in my mind, resort fees mean there is a sauna or hot tub. Maybe a game room? Just charge $35 more and cut it with the disingenuous fee. Lovely...

"The place is well-located near the top areas to visit in the city. The room is clean, tidy, and equipped with everything you might need during your stay. Our only concern is that there is no ventilation in the bathroom."
