Motel 6 El Cajon, CA - San Diego

2/10 Terrible

"The room was filthy. I walked barefoot and discovered my feet were completely black from dirt. The noise outside from people and cars was awful. Hard to sleep with that noise. Not enough towels for two people to shower. Human hair fragments dispersed through the bathroom and bed area. You could see light coming through the door. The beds were squeaky and you could feel the springs. The sink was unprofessionally painted black. The absolute worst hotel experience I ever had. Hotels.com should never havecplaces like that on their motel list. Obviously I will never ever stay there again. And on my next trip, I'm seriously considering using another service."

"Arrive at 4:00 am and the toilet was broken, The desk clerk was extremely helpful and courteous and moved us to another room immediately. We inquired about late check out on our final day and the daytime staff was very pleasant to work with. Staff at this location understands hospitality and taking care of their guest. "

"We stayed for one night and had a relatively good experience. We did end up getting a ground-floor room, which ended up being very noisy. When booking, I did not know this hotel was in a commercial parking lot and was butted up to several restaurants like IN -N-OUT. Since there is a lot of foot traffic here, and me being a light sleeper, it wasn't the best experience. I will say, however, the bed was soooo comfy, and the pillows have been the best I've experienced recently. The room was clean and comfortable, A/C'd perfectly upon arrival, well decorated, and suited our needs perfectly. The showerhead had a drip, which was super noisy due to the metal drain right under it, but it's nothing a spare towel can't fix. The continental breakfast was good, including sausage patties, boiled eggs, a waffle bar, and a full oatmeal, bread, and cereal station. The only issue I had was that the boiled eggs were not peeled, and the other eggs were a cheese and egg omelet. Being lactose intolerant, I was a little disappointed in that. However, the rest of the food was pretty good. The staff was nice, the pool is mid (basically in the parking lot), workout room looked fine. All in all, I would stay here again but reguest a higher room than the floor level."

"Front desk staff was great. Ashley was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice. Just don't stay on the first floor. Not sure if it was the people above us or just a very thin ceiling, or maybe both, but was noisy above us at night. Grass area for dogs wasn't great. It was full of weeds with stickers. But overall for a two night stay, it was good."
