"Short version? Quiet, friendly, intimate, and island paced location. Loved it. Although many told us this is a smaller all inclusive, we thought it had plenty and we really enjoyed our stay. The landscaping is lush, clean, and welcoming. We loved the wildlife seeing flamingos, many different types of smaller birds, iguanas, and coatis as well. The food was quite good, honestly nothing negative about anything we ate. Also, I appreciated how they had purified water fill stations and ice stations everywhere, not giving throw away plastic bottles and instead providing us with glass refillable bottles for water to keep in the room. If I had to mention anything as a negative, it would be restaurant options, which are limited in that there are at most 3 dinner options, usually one to two lunch or breakfast options. For me, I didn’t mind as all the food available was quite good. El Cedral has good BBQ options like pulled pork and their rolls are great. Towards the end of our stay we finally convinced our 15yr old to let us try the other buffet restaurant by the front desk called Cozumel. That had great options too. For people who are used to having 4+ restaurant options for each meal you might be disappointed. Activity options were great, your standard beach things plus archery and rifle shooting (which we didn’t try), and one tennis court. Tennis court has pickleball lines and they have some basic pickleball gear. We will be back for sure though. "

"The hospitality at this resort was above and beyond. Roberto, the tour representative was phenomenal. The food in the formal dining was excellent except for the chicken. Always seemed to be overcooked so it was tough but everything else was excellent."

"This is a beautifully designed hotel that is surrounded by lush greenery. There’s a pool in a beautiful setting with lots of options for lounging if you don’t want to be in full sun. I loved that you also have the option to use the facilities at the Fiesta American if you want full sun and a DJ! The combination of the 2 facilities was great because you just have more options. But I always really liked the difference from being at the Fiesta American, beach and pool and then going back to the Explorean where it was more cool and quiet. Perfect for families with small children! Lots of indoor/outdoor restaurants with high ceilings and fresh healthy food. And other little things like a coffee, ice cream and pastry bar from 10 - 10 for caffeine and sugar addicts. Staff was super nice and helpful and there was a different option each day for a field trip. The boat trip to go snorkeling got me back in the groove with snorkeling again after 25 years, and then I discovered that the snorkeling right off the beach at the hotel was just as great! (There are decks with ladders to easily get into the water as this is not a wide sandy beach.) "

"We love to stay at the El CID and we’ve stayed here many times. The place is kept very clean and the people are amazing! Things I really like: the snorkeling from shore, the cleanliness, the people, the walkability of the area, and the views from the rooms. Things I don’t particularly like: the humidity is so bad everything in our room felt wet all the time including the bed and the food is not the best. The bed is also not the most comfortable and if the other person moves a little the whole bed moves badly. However, we continue to return time after time for the great atmosphere at the el cid. "

"There is so much to love about Allegro Cozumel. Not fancy but nice. My favorite thing? The beach is perfect. Water crystal clear, no rocks, lots of beautiful fish and exquisite sunsets. Staff is exceptional. Food is good but there could be more options. We have stayed at Allegro many times and do not the new restaurant schedule-only one specialty restaurant open each night and difficult to get a reservation. "
