The Cavilla looks very new and is nicely laid out and decorated. Everything in the rooms seems new and modern and is all in great condition. We saw quite a few ants in both the rooms we stayed in but other than that it was clean.
The hotel has a great location. It is just a few minutes from the beach and is also near many restaurants. They also offer mopeds to rent for a reasonable price, which we used to go to Son Tra peninsula (a lovely trip).
There were, however, some quite serious downsides. The staff were all fairly friendly but not very good at English and we got told conflicting things by different members of staff throughout our whole stay, such as whether breakfast was included or not (it wasn’t).
There was one day when the electricity went off at 6am and didn’t come back on until around 12 hours later. They did warn us the day before that this would happen and luckily we were out for most of that time anyway. We were also offered free breakfast one morning for the inconvenience, which was nice of them (but horrible pancake).
The worst aspect of our stay was the amount of building work happening in front of and next to the hotel. The builders start very early in the morning and work past midnight so it is almost constantly noisy. Our first room was right next to where they were working so we asked to swap to the other side, which wasn’t a problem, and the noise was much more bearable this side.
Overall a lovely hotel, shame about the building work.
