"Unfortunately I am not able to review Dil Lanka Safari Resort, because when we arrived, the manager was very surprised to see us and said that he had no booking from us (three people, two rooms). Ultimately it was resolved (with help from our Sri Lankan driver) and we were given our money back (booking was prepaid). The grounds looked nice, so you could take your chances, but make sure you do nót prepay your reservation."

"The welcome at the Sihilro Regency is second to none. We felt almost like family. The home cooked food offered is really fantastic, exceeding the standard in most of the hotels we stayed in. Arriving over the new year weekend, we were slightly concerned that onward travel would be difficult but they helped us find a taxi at a very reasonable price. We also used their in house Safari and the driver / guide was brilliant. Highly recommended."

The directions are also unclear, even if you use googlemaps. The property is new and in great condition. However, there are things that could be better, especially the food. "Stayed 2 nights in August. Spacious hotel with plenty to explore, we wished we'd had more time to make the most of all the facilities. Had a small hiccup with our room allocation at check-in, but the team resolved it quickly and professionally. Food was a highlight - great buffet breakfast with a wide selection, and good options across the various restaurants on site. We also played 18 holes of golf; the caddies were professional, polite and added a lot to the experience. Would recommend for a relaxing stay with plenty of facilities to enjoy, just make sure you allow enough time to see it all."

"My parents were there to celebrate my dad’s birthday, and although we celebrated a little late, they had such a wonderful experience. Quoting my dad “The birthday arrangement was beautiful, the cake was lovely, and the famous DoubleTree cookie was the best. The breakfast and dinner buffets were both excellent, and the amenities were exceptional.” What really stood out to them was the warmth and attention to detail throughout their stay. My mum still can’t stop complimenting the food; my parents have travelled all around Sri Lanka and tried many different cuisines, so coming from them, that is actually really huge to hear! Next time I’m in Lanka, I already know where my first stop will be. 10/10 for such a great stay!"
