On site parking, loved the 1920s vibe. Bar was WONDERFUL. Clean room. Not for you if you are looking for upscale and amenities. If you want character and history, this is the place. We will be back.

It was a decent place, old timey feel, clean room. The downstairs bar was very inviting and cozy.

This was just so depressing. It’s like they got to a certain point in revamping this cool house and gave up. The bar restaurant was great but the rest of the place was sad. There’s no thermostat in room and it was COLD! Warm water takes about ten mins to get to your room which we were told but it never got hot. The shower curtain was old and ripped up. Looks like all the mismatched furnishings and the one lamp in the room were found at goodwill. Only one tube of shampoo, no conditioner. No coffee pot in room and no to go cups downstairs by the keurig. If you want a true restored old home go to the Riverdale Inn in Jacksonville. This has so much potential. It’s just a shame.

The staff support was lacking. There was no one around at all in the morning. I was basically alone in the hotel. There was no coffee maker in the room and the Nespresso in the reception area didn’t work. I had to go to the hotel bar to get ice and there were no cups in the room. Overall it was disappointing, cold, empty and unwelcoming. Definitely not worth the price.

The Deland Hotel is NO frills. Our room was dirty and dated and overpriced. The furniture was stained and miss matched. There was not even a TV in our room. Huge disappointment.

There is a difference between boutique hotels and run down OLD hotels & this is the latter!!! We stayed in room 206 and there is no heat or air conditioning whatsoever, we froze all night. There wasn't even extra blankets like in other hotels and you can't reach anyone at anytime. We were warned it takes a long time for hot water. 16 full mins & even then just warm never hot! Would never recommend this hotel. It's dirty and run down with 0% customers service.

Quaint, quirky property with all the oddities you’d expect from a hotel 100 years old. Extremely comfy bed with plenty of pillows. A couple of minor details that probably only a former hotelier would complain about… no tissues or drinkware (paper or plastic would have been fine) in the room. Staff… friendly and accommodating. Beautiful bar perfect for setting. Just a heads up, this property does not have an elevator.

Unique and historic hotel. I love the antique decor and the staff/ owner were very friendly. No need to leave the hotel for meals as the hotel has a quaint restaurant, with various cuisine options and offers indoor/ outdoor dining. The chef is friendly and talented. He adds west coast flare to classic meals. The Captain Crunch french toast and patty melt were 2 favorites. He even helped jump my battery after I left my lights on! Easily, the best upcoming hotel in Deland.

Hotel is very nice and clean and staff very friendly. Sadly they do not have AC in the second floor. I spend the worse night of my life. Temperature must be in the 80's in my room. It is sad, because the hotel is super nice, very old, but well maintained. The fact they did not lower the AC after we requested twice (owner refused) made this stay very uncomfortable. I'm not staying there again just because of that.

Had a fun time.

Had a great time. The Hotel is so cool back in the 1920's. The bar is fully stocked and the bar tenders are well knowledged and the restaurant has great food.

We booked a stay at The DeLand Hotel for the night of July 4, 2025, via Expedia, expecting a relaxing experience. Unfortunately, it was anything but. When we arrived just before 6 PM, we were shocked to find signs on the doors stating the hotel was closed until July 5th. No prior notice was given. After calling the hotel directly, someone was sent to unlock the doors and let us in. We later learned we were the only guests—the hotel had accidentally left the booking system open. That night, we endured: No working A/C (central system was turned off). Ongoing overnight construction on the floor above—likely to repair water damage—causing noise throughout the night. Fire doors left open for workers, raising safety concerns, especially as we had our child with us. No access to amenities: the on-site bar and restaurant were closed, and the complimentary wine offer was void. No staff on-site at checkout the next morning—no way to voice concerns directly. Expedia tried to mediate with the hotel, but the management refused any compensation. We paid for a full-service experience and received the bare minimum, under unacceptable conditions. This experience ruined our night and left us exhausted and frustrated. I would avoid this hotel. This was not a one-off inconvenience; it was a clear display of mismanagement, neglect, and disregard for guests’ comfort and safety. If this is how they operate behind closed doors (literally), I would never trust them with another stay.
