Rooms were worn out, cleanliness could be improved. You need to carry your luggage from parking to your room which is a walk depending on your location. Location was great. Food was good. Though reservations will be needed for the restaurant to avoid long wait. Ambience outside was awesome. Pool was very nice.

The breakfast buffet (only breakfast available) was horrible. We paid $40.00 and could NOT eat anything cooked by the resort. We ate fruit and boxed cereal and toast. Very old and dirty rooms. The bathroom was filthy, mold and rust on the ceiling, light switches missing and rotting wood on the door and door jamb. The room had poor lighting and very old pillows and mattresses. Not enough parking for the guests.

The lodging cottages were fantastic. However the management of the overall facility was seriously lacking continuity. At checking in we were informed of all eating facilities on site but not told that reservations were required to the restaurant and the main family friendly dining area (the Buffet ) was not open. When we inquired at the front desk about the buffet they had no idea that it was closed so also have to wonder if they knew that a reservation was required for the main restaurant. So showing up at 5:30 to eat and the buffet is closed and they had no more reservations available at the restaurant (you could come back at 7:30 and see if anything might be available-no wait list etc. just first come first serve) it made the eating choices quite slim. It actually overwhelmed the last eating place on premises to the point that the food and service were compromised. Not really any other choice but to tough it out -accept it-and make it work. We Just expected more from this top notch rated facility. The staff was courteous and professional just not informed about what was going on. They were overwhelmed and did the best they could.

The Ranch at Death Valley is in the Park which makes it a very convenient location. It has a pool and basketball, tennis and pickleball courts. It also has a small museum which was interesting. There is only one resrtaurant at the Ranch so we ate there four nights in a row. The food was good but became repetitive.

Location ideal…close by perfect spot for sunset and stargazing. The walls pretty thin so can hear people walking or talking. The shower was bit slow otherwise everything great! Love the ice cream parlor-huckleberry flavors yummy.

Best place to stay in DV. Large property, so you do not feel crowded. Close to key sites in the Park. Saloon restaurant was excellent. Great amenities.

You can’t beat the location for exploring Death Valley. If you can book one of the cottages, I would highly recommend. Our friends stayed in a cottage but we were in a room in building 600. The room was adequate, if dated, but the biggest issue we had was all of the construction work going on a few feet from our patio. We were gone most of the day so it didn’t bother us, but there was a deep ditch that seemed unsafe for families with little kids. The food options are somewhat limited, but that seems to be an issue at all the national parks.

They don’t allow guests to set the room temperature below 74°F (and 80°F for employees). I understand this is a hot area and that the AC units may struggle, but this limitation should be clearly disclosed to customers upfront, especially given their high prices. What was most frustrating was the lack of transparency. I called reception twice and, instead of explaining the “corporate” temperature cap, they said they would send maintenance to check the issue. I had specifically asked why the thermostat wouldn’t go below 74°F. In other words, they chose to go around the question rather than respect my time with a direct answer

We really used the room just for a place to sleep. Rooms are clean. I couldn’t get the ac fan stay on so there was some hallway noise that’s annoying but otherwise we had a nice stay. We didn’t use the pool or golf course but those appeared nice.
