"This is the first time we stayed in a 民宿 in Taiwan and we are glad that we made a good choice。 Laurel Villa is a well designed and well managed facility for travelers to get a good night sleep。 We enjoyed friendly reception once entering the 民宿. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was excellent with many varieties of tasty Taiwanese dishes. We especially appreciated the sunrise bike tour led by the owner, Mr. Wang, who is very knowledgeable about the history, geology, and ecology of Sun Moon Lake. He guided us to the best places for sunrise photography along bike paths of the lake. My whole family including two grandkids enjoyed his warm hospitality during our two-day stay at Laurel Villa during Christmas HOLIDAYs."

"Lovely hotel! Our room had a beautiful view of the lake and everything we needed for a weekend getaway. The staff were courteous and the breakfast was plentiful. The location is perfectly located close to all amenities."

"I took the family (wife and three teenage children) and we stayed for 2 nights in single room with 2 king size beds. Overall it was a very comfortable stay and both the buffet breakfast and dinner were nice. The shuttle bus to the train station in the morning made it easier to travel to see the sunrise, and with the hotel located in the centre of the park, it was close to all the main walks. The hotel appeared a bit outdated, even though we were in the modern building. One disadvtange was the bath room was open style and it would have been nice to put a door or blinds. Apart from that, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Alishan. As an aside, the hotel organise a private taxi to pick us up from Chiayi to Alishan Hotel, and then from the Alishan hotel to our next destination in Tainan. The driver was excellent and very knowledgeable of the Alishan area, with many good recommendations. "

"Room was very clean except for the suede sofa (there were a few old stains on it). Staff was very friendly and made the check-in experience seamless. They offer free bug spray use in the lobby. Location was very convenient, we were just a few minutes walk away from Ita Thao pier for the ferry and restaurants/shops. The hotel's breakfast was good and they offer free tea (they claim to be premium) and biscuits during the day until 6pm! Overall, we had a comfortable stay here and would rebook if we ever visit again!"

"Extremely helpful and welcoming staff. They helped us navigate the bus schedule during our stay and schedule a taxi to catch the Alishan sunrise. It is very helpful to know some Mandarin if staying here, but one of the ladies knows enough English to help if you don't. The property is gorgeous. It is incredibly fragrant from very lush tea fields and there are coffee trees growing too. The scenery is stunning-- the sunset on our balcony was amazing. Our room was very comfortable with a balcony that overlooked the tea fields and valley below. It was very quiet, since none of the rooms share walls! Each building is free-standing, which makes it very private. I definitely recommend having a car if staying in Fushan since the bus schedule in Alishan in general is limited. Overall, this was a wonderful stay and I will absolutely be back. Next time, with a car! A huge thank you to the staff, their wonderful farm cats, and the sweet dog Ruru!"

"Good location right on the lake and free bikes to use and the bike path is in front of the hotel. Our room has the lake view with a balcony, great view for sunset and sunrise. The room is spacious with a Japanese style sitting room that can be completely closed. The bathroom has an onsen style hot tub. The breakfast was average. Highly recommended"
