What was unique was when we sat down to dinner, there were two other guests and the owners sat around the same table. More like a dinner party than a hotel restaurant scenario.

We thoroughly enjoyed are stay! The pool and AC were a welcome relief from the heat. The hosts were excellent and we loved hearing about the work they’ve done to the house and the history of the delicious cassoulet they served up in the evening. I wish we’d stayed for longer.

This property is like the Jewel in the Crown!! Firstly, don't be put off by the small number of excellent reviews as it has only opened this year. The hosts, Katy and Olivier, were both working in England for many years at a high quality and popular hotel in the Yorkshire Dales. Katy's family owned this Yorkshire hotel and Olivier was the head chef. When the family sold the Hotel, Katy & Olivier returned to his native France and then the Maison du canal du midi was born. What a truly fantastic place, lovely rooms, great breakfast and a wonderful host. Plus a swimming pool.

Stunning property with lovely hosts. Food was excellent as was the service. In town was a great tapas too

stunning pool and spa areas

Lovely hotel, beautifully and tastefully renovated and furnished. (Inc air con and all mod cons - pretty bedroom and modern shower room) We were welcomed so warmly by Ghislaine and her family, including their very cute dog! The village is pretty quiet and so they very kindly booked us into a restaurant a few miles away overlooking the river. Staying here was a great alternative to a bland chain hotel close to the airport for our morning flight.

stunning location - rustic French chic Beware the pizza/bar closes at 9pm secure garage for my motorbike was a welcome bonus

BJ and Iris were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. The setting was great with wonderful views and a stones throw from Carcassonne city. Breakfast was wonderful with home made jams. BJ was also very kind to re freeze our ice packs for the onward journey. We will definitely be back.

Receptionist extremely friendly, facilities fantastic for our overnight stopover. Great 2 bedroom appartment.

We only stayed for one night before a morning flight from Carcassonne but wish we could have stayed longer! Our hosts went out of their way to make us comfortable without being intrusive. The house looks like something from the pages of a posh interior design magazine. We had a balcony to enjoy a glass of wine. Restaurants, supermarkets and the rail station are all a few minutes walk. And our host's baking skills made breakfast an absolute treat - you'll notice the delicious smells wafting...

What a gorgeous stay at a beautiful chateau. We had the most peaceful stay here - very welcoming staff who were so friendly. We felt incredibly special and well looked after, and cooked for. The air conditioning and cool room were so well appreciated in the heat wave. The property is gorgeous, quiet and so relaxing. It was a perfect stop off on our trip.
