Great location, nicely furnished room, good complimentary breakfast. Unfortunately no restaurant on site means driving out for dinner.

Great hotel, excellent breakfast, clean room, good TV

Nice hotel and location. A little too much furniture in the room and the bathroom needs a minor renovation but on the whole a pleasant stay.

Excellent location, staff friendly breakfast nice would recommend highly

Excellent hotel, would definitely stay again, highly recommend.

Hotel was excellent, but out of season not many places to eat. Beautiful location almost on the beach.

Friendly check in, we had a suite but disappointing that although full kitchen there is no dining table & chairs. There is a small sofa with small table tray and a pull out table on wheels with computer chair, so eating a meal tricky. No easy chairs either. Wish i had just booked a standard room. Breakfast not to my taste To get to beach you have to cross a road and obtain access via their swimming pool and boardwalk.

Nice hotel with very comfortable bed and good shower. Single use plates / cutlery / cups at breakfast which seems environmentally irresponsible, though at least the plates were paper and not polystyrene and there were recycling facilities.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a longer trip to the USA. What a beautiful location & place! We were lucky to have a room which looked out onto the lighthouse. We loved the spacious room & the old furniture, it was all very fitting for the location. It was lovely to sit & read in the veranda rockers in the warm afternoons after a busy day out! The level of hospitality was excellent from the housekeepers & we liked being able to help ourselves to breakfast & drinks from the 'help yourself'...

The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

We had a very nice stay, the Inn is in a nice location, has a great restaurant and the rooms were very clean.

Stunning
