"24 hour coffee provided. Staff responded quickly (came from their break) to ensure we could access the TV. Room did smell musty but was clean. Cozy and dated but would stay again. We only need a clean place to sleep. It’s a little outside of Campbell River so we had to drive into the town for restaurants."

"Clean room ( Cortez wing rm 327) with a small refrigerator, coffee maker and electric tea kettle. Balcony with partial view of the water. On site restaurant with view of the water. We saw orcas while eating breakfast."

"Room was big, breakfast was nice and friendly and helpfull staff. All we needed for a reasonable price. Close to the center and enough space for parking. We were happy with out choice."

"Clean room and dining room was excellent in views of the ocean. Staff in dining room super great also. No shops or other restaurants nearby so you were eating onsite. Yard and hotel outside could use a clean up. Screens on patio doors most of them off and hanging on balcony. Fresh painting needed. Breakfast buffet needs a change up every couple of days. It was always the same when we stayed for 3 days. Oatmeal perhaps added and bacon instead of sausage etc. change that up. Beds super comfy...

"Dated Sept 12, 2026 Despite all the terrible reviews we have seen the hotel room was very clean and the beds were very good. We enjoyed our stay and if we ever return to Gold River that is where we will stay. On the other hand we went to the other hotel's restaraunt to have a bite to eat and even though we only ordered an appetizer it took over 45 minutes to get our food."

"Really nice spot in right by the waters! Cabins were nicely prepared with everything you need. Only downside is that there wasn’t any staff on site to help with questions/concerns. The only way to reach anyone is via text message, and the owners were quite slow to respond."

"Nice setting along the river and convenient to town. Older building has been updated and was comfortable. Bedroom in Suite 1 is small but was doable for the one night we were passing through. Enjoyed listening to the birds and watching a few fly fisherman in the morning. Instructions for accessing the gated parking lot and building were detailed and accurate."

"Great bang for the buck. The wifi works and the staff were helpful. There is a game room, coffee machine, and frig in the activity room if needed. Definitely pet friendly."
