"The only time we saw anyone actually at the front desk was the day we checked in. We left the hotel early in the morning and returned in the evening each day exhausted and had to get a new key for each day because they were changing the locks or doing whatever. It wouldn't have been so bad if the staff was actually around to help you right away. They are hardly ever at the front desk, especially the guy working nights! We called out, "HEY! Anybody here?" "HELLLLLO????" and still nobody showed....

"The hotel was great, overall. Breakfast was really good. And the staff went above and beyond, the front desk lady even helped me to my car, as I had my kids on my own and our luggage. Very kind! The only complaint I had was that our entire floor smelled very strongly like weed.."

"We enjoyed our stay. They really need to do an upgrade on their mattresses and ONE microwave was not enough for the entire hotel! Especially with it being a holiday weekend. I know the Sonesta Suites Hotel have a microwave on each floor near the ice machine. Tru may need to think of this option."

"The pool area is not well kept or clean. Breakfast included, but same food was offered everyday over 4 days of the stay, so we ended up grabbing breakfast out. Not convenient to downtown Charleston or the beaches if you are looking to go there."

"Although the staff was friendly and polite, the cleanliness of the room was completely unacceptable. There was a dead cockroach inside the built-in air conditioner located near the floor. Even worse, the bathtub had sand that had not been cleaned, and there was someone else’s pubic hair on both the walls and inside the bathtub. It was absolutely disgusting. Taking a shower in those conditions was extremely unpleasant. We arrived late in the evening after a long drive, so we didn’t want to...

"Okay stay. Room is nice, but the cigarette smell in the room was apparent and smelled bad. I had asked for new sheets in my room in the morning, and came back that night with no sheets. Was not happy about that!"

"Checked in and the toilet would not flush. Called the front desk and was told to call back in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later I had to walk down to the desk and wait to be helped. I was moved to another room. There were holes in the wall and the air conditioner did not cool the room off. To top the night off, I woke up to a roach crawling across my neck."

"Had a great time. Even extended our stay. Breakfast was great and staff was wonderful. Anything we needed just asked and got it. Would highly recommend. The area is right off the highway. A lot of places around us and nothing was too far away."

"The property is in a very good location, close to gas stations, fast food, and shopping outlets. The hotel was clean, well presented. The buffet style break at was pretty good - I love bacon so that was a great one day - I would recommend and definitely stay here again if I was to go back to SC either for mini vacation or business."
