"We stay here quite a lot. It was lovely as always although I feel the rooms do now need to look at upgrading to keep inline with other 5 star hotels. The showers weren’t great. And the aircon was noisy."

"Lovely hotel but Manor House rooms not on a par to the Celtic Manor Also £13.50 a day cheapest parking hurt Lovely breakfast and use of main hotel but next time I will stay in the Celtic Manor and only stay one night not 3 as nearly £40 to park my car when staying 3 nights plus that car park is a fair walk as it was raining has put me off staying longer again"

"Absolutely amazing hotel! Modern, spotlessly clean and such a lovely place to stay. The staff at reception are fantastic, and the manager in particular is so friendly, welcoming and always goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. We now regularly stay at this hotel because of the excellent service and the way we’re always made to feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend this hotel — you definitely won’t be disappointed with your stay! ❤️"

"If you’re driving somewhere it’s good value for money as a one or two nighter. Don’t expect anything flashy but it’s nice and clean. Would be better if they had a queen size bed. Be prepared to drive. It’s not close to anything. Breakfast was so so. Filling, but the powdered scrambled eggs were not very edible."

"From the outside the hotel looked like any other country hotel, but once you step inside you almost notice straight away how tired looking the whole hotel is, the interior doors, the wallpaper. I stayed in room 17, didn’t sleep much, found the bed uncomfortable. It had a ‘smart tv’, well nothing smart about that tv , it kept going off and then on again. In fact it even came on in the middle of the night. Still I thought the price I paid was a bit low for a hotel in this country nowadays, and you...

"What a lovely room at the top of a pub. Beautifully presented and pristine and lots of space although steep steps. There are a few quirks as to be expected in an old building but that didn’t put us off as we ourselves live in an old property. Communication was very good. Thank you for having us 😊"

"This place is a wip, but you can see they are making improvements and working hard to get it sorted. Was clean, warm and overlooking fantastic views which you would pay for in other venues. Food good. Activities like games and mags available, a bar and of course the bike.used as a stop off. Would stay again."

"Lovely spacious room, brilliant location in the heart of the Forest of Dean (we saw wild boar in broad daylight, just outside the hotel). Excellent meal in the the dining room in the evening of our stay. Online check-in didn't seem to have worked, but this may not have been the hotel's fault."
