"Had a short stay but it was wonderful. Although we didn’t actually meet Lene she was a phone call away and was proactive. idnt see an iron or ironing board but i didn’t call Lene to find out either!"

"It was wonderful and we had a fantastic stay. The property was beautiful spotless and I would recommend a stay to anyone wanting beautiful accommodation and scenery to go with it. The staff were fantastic. "

"Brenda and George were great hosts, helpful, quick to respond and assist with minor issues like an adaptor. Room, with separate shower bathroom and kitchenette was comfortable, clean, well equiped and had nice decor. Excellent value for money. Had a great 2-night stay! "

"Our door didn't lock for the inside so we slept with an open door all night. There is no security anyone can just drive in because it seem deserted. It took us 35 min to just find a worker to help us. There are many many flies in the cabins. There is a TV not connected to anything. There is no cell reception, or WiFi so if something goes wrong well your on your own. The place is extremely basic and you are basically paying for the view which is amazing. "We absolutely loved our stay at The Crown Guest house! Beautiful artwork everywhere, comfy and quiet rooms and a wonderful breakfast. The guest house is also a 3 minute drive from a mall with restaurants and shops, so very conveniently located. Highly recommended for your trip to the Eastern Free State! Many thanks to the owner and staff for making our stay so welcoming and enjoyable. "

Golden Gate Hotel

"We had a 1 night stay over at the Golden Gate hotel. We initially thought we booked at the hotel but was surprised that we had booked a chalet. The chalet was perfect with its own braai (BBQ) outside and all the amenities required for a proper self catering experience. Would definitely stay there again as it about a 15 minute scenic drive to Clarens."

"This was my second stay here and the staff made the stay perfect. They were, pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and so accommodating. The room floors could do with a scrub as well as washing and tidying up the curtains. Other than that everything else was perfect. Washroom facilities were spot on but shower floor corners need a clean. What we took away...the beautiful staff. They are your best assets there. Then comes the views. Thank you Emma and Team"
