"No use of the spa even though the pricing of the hotel / advertising seemed to show the spa… 42£ for access for anyone wondering. The staff weren’t overly attentive and the service was slow. Simple things were missed, such as we asked for twin rooms and got a double. Rooms felt a bit small for the price. Good location for the hotel and the breakfast was very good. Lovely building and comfortable beds."

"Had a nice stay at the Hilton, clean comfortable and great location. Slightly dated in areas (pool, and room) and lacking atmosphere in the bar (no background music). After spending £294 a night we were disappointed to find that we needed to pay an extra £10 per session to use the pool. We were not notified about this on reception which was disappointing. The hotel do offer a discount code on the NCP carpark which is a stones throw away, although this is still incredibly expensive. Lovely...

"The room was clean and convenient to the downtown area, the castle and the train. The hot water was wonderful. The bed was a little uncomfortable and we felt the air was a little stuffy and warm but we are Americans used to air conditioning. They did provide a fan which was helpful. The price was very reasonable and staff were helpful. Even with a lift, you will have some stairs. Breakfast was very good."

"Could have done with a king size bed instead of a double bed but that is my preference. Air conditioning was non existent or I just couldn’t work it. But there was a tower fan in the room that helped. Over all good stay."

"The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. The staff were helpful and pleasant especially the lovely Scottish lady on reception. We didn’t have the breakfast or have any food from the bar as they sell peanuts which my daughter has an anaphylactic allergy to. This meant we had to go out for food. The pool was a great feature but had limited hours for children so wasn’t used as much as we had anticipated. They had a lot of kids swimming lessons on at the same time which again we hadn’t...

"Nothing to like about a filthy hotel no hot water in the afternoon/evening, in the morning it went from only cold water to shower then scalding hot & back to no water again. In our room the carpet was dirty, curtain rail in the bathroom was falling off. Beds were unbearable springs bulging up into your back.
