"Only stayed for one night whilst attending the cricket at Sophia Gardens. Convenient for the City. Comfortable and clean. Big room but a bit tired in places. Staff were friendly. Always frustrating when parking and leisure facilities are extra, but that's the way of the world, I guess. Would stay again if still competitive with other City venues"

"The club room was colourful, clean, spacious with a powerful shower, comfortable bed and enough to get around. Seemed a pretty quiet hotel but we stayed on a Sunday evening. No fan or air conditioning in room but we stayed cool. The pool/spa and gym were fantastic with us being able to get a locker for free. Membership of these facilities on the high side but we got free use with our club room. We decided against the pub/grill as prices were unbelievably high however hotel allowed us to order in...

"From walking through the door, the young man on reception was polite, explained everything and with a smile. The room was clean, tidy and the bed was comfortable. At breakfast the experience continued to be brilliant, the lady explained the way Breakfast was a buffet and where things were. Wonderful view looking out over the wharf. Food was of a high Standard. Room 114. "

"The suites as a whole were fantastic, very clean and the staff were very friendly and approachable :) We would definitely stay here again. One thing to be aware of is the parking, there is a limited number of spaces as the car park is on the smaller side. If you do find a space, I would recommend walking/using public transport to get to any other destinations in Cardiff after checking in, purely to avoid losing the space when you return :)"

"The Holiday Inn is in an excellent location for the castle and everything Cardiff has to offer. The lobby, bar and breakfast area are modern and welcoming; and the buffet breakfast was very good. My only criticism was that our room, although large with a comfy bed, was a bit tired and shabby; it lacked the modern touches that the reception and restaurant have been furnished with and the bathroom is small and a bit drab. As we were staying on a concert weekend the room rate was higher than usual...
