"The check-in process needs to be better. We stood in line for over 40 min and the lobby was a madhouse. The folks behind the counter were definitely moving on island time and did not seem very enthusiastic. I think the 1st people you see make a huge impression and this needs work. The staff beyond that were great. We stayed in a room with a private pool which we appreciated because the pools were also madhouse, at one point having a foam party. The beach was lacking, dirty and not a bit inviting. It was very packed. The food at the buffet was mediocre. The Italian restaurant alright. The Mexican restaurant was the only one we said we would go back to, it was delicious. The casino looks like it's from the 80s and the disco is pretty small with nothing to it. All in all, I think this is a resort that locals may come to more. If you're traveling from outside the DR, pick a different location as this would not make a good 1st impression. I love coming to the DR and this was not a great representation of it."
