"There were no other guests in the hotel but I was told I could not stay in one of the rooms overlooking the sea because they weren’t clean. Instead I was put in a small room in the back. The mattress was comfortable enough, but the thin blanket meant I had to keep the heat on all night, an unpleasant way to sleep. In the morning I found that the water heater did not work so no hot water. The only pleasant aspect of the stay was the caretaker, Mustafa, who was very friendly and fluent in German from his youth growing up in „Little Istanbul“ in Berlin. "
