"It was our first time in Crete Greece and not realizing how big the island is ( biggest island in Greece) we picked Saint George Gournes Bay. It is a really nice, clean and almost brand new hotel looking over a beautiful sea Our room was spacious and very well designed. Bathroom was big and we had a balcony looking over the courtyard and some sea view. The staff is friendly and extremely professional.. Alex welcomed us upon arrival went over all of the necessary information with us. Breakfast was great with plenty of choices to pick from. My favorites were watermelon and Greek pastries.. of course not to forget yogurt !! One thing I highly recommend is to rent a car from the airport if you want to explore this beautiful island. Various locations in the island offers something unique.. there are some restaurants and mini markets however you need to walk minimum 20-25 minutes to get there. plus this part of Crete is new so some of the streets are not really that well lite ,, we didn’t get the rental car first 3 days after walking 10-15k steps a day to get bread and water and some snacks. We decided to get a car. Also do not use OK mobility not reliable .. Back to the hotel you have everything you need if you want to stay by the pool Beach is about 5-6 minutes away by walking and it is 10 euro a day for 2 chairs and umbrella. The sea in front of the hotel is very rocky so swimming is not possible. We went to various beaches in the island to explore This side of the island i"

"My stay here was lovely! The room smelled amazing and was always very clean. The cleaners came every single day, and they were so lovely and friendly too. As a solo traveller, the location was really important to me. I wanted somewhere I would feel comfortable coming back to alone, including in the evenings, and I had no issues at all during my stay. The hotel is around a 10-minute drive from some of the busiest areas, so I would definitely recommend having a car if you want to explore properly. There are also restaurants and a nice, usable beach area around a 5–7 minute walk away. I saw a few reviews mentioning aeroplane noise, but I noticed this in several places around this part of the island, so I don’t think it’s specific to this hotel. It didn’t negatively affect my stay. Overall, I had such a lovely experience and would definitely recommend it, particularly for solo travellers looking for somewhere clean, safe and reasonably priced. "Great family resort with multiple pools and activities. Good for younger kids and families who are mostly looking to spend their time at the hotel. A few decent shops and restaurants nearby and nice beaches a 10 minute walk. Taxis are expensive in the islands. €35 from airport to resort. 15-20 min"

"Wonderful welcome from wonderful staff. Nothing feels like too much trouble. The standard room was basic but was perfectly sufficient for our needs and cleaned every day. The hotel has a boutique style with 2 nice outdoor pools and one indoor, next to the small but sufficiently equipped gym. Unfortunately we did not have time to try out the spa treatments but the staff were also very nice in there. We were half-board and found the food to be excellent - lots of choice, very fresh and again, wonderful staff. I travelled with my teenage daughter and we were glad to see a variety of different people and age groups at the hotel, couples, groups and families. The location is also very good. It is in a quiet area within walking distance (20 mins) of the beach, some shops, tavernas and bars. There are bus stops close by to take you to busier areas such as Heraklion and Hersonissos, which we used frequently. The hotel also facilitates car rental (for the brave) as well as airport transfers, which we used on arrival and were very happy with. The one and only criticism is reserving sunbeds with towels. The hotel states that they do not allow it but it happened daily and no one acted upon it. It meant that we spent very little of our time in the hotel using their facilities. I think if you have a policy, you should stick to it. It was very frustrating to see reserved beds left for many hours unoccupied."

"Great sea front location (beautiful sunset), walking distance to few restaurants, and with friendly staff. Rooms were spacious and clean and very functional, though not the most luxurious (likely 2-3 star). Included breakfast was also good. One thing I did not like is that the access to the hotel and vicinity is not that polished (area looks run down with an under developed feel, even though the hotel itself is decent and well maintained)."
