"Let me begin by saying that this is one of the most beautiful resorts in the world! The architecture is fantastic with private balconies on every room which allow personal, gorgeous views that one will never forget. Built at the turn of the twentieth century, the property has been maintained well. Considering that the resort sits atop a very high peak overlooking a beautiful lake in the Alps, that is no small feat. The interior has been well preserved, shiny and clean. The rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. That’s the good side of the experience. On the down side, the staff, the restaurant, the unwelcoming atmosphere, not so good. We got the feeling from check in until departure that we were a big inconvenience. Not rude, just indifferent, not friendly. We sat in the restaurant for half an hour, completely ignored, while a small group (we assumed they were locals) had a get together, and finally walked out. We drove around the mountain a short way and found a small restaurant where we had the most wonderful home cooked meal we could have dreamed of. No breakfast, no coffee, no restaurant.
I would definitely stay here again, but with no expectations of service."
