"I really enjoyed my time at Dark Horse. The owner and staff are warm and welcoming, and helped out in many ways, both big and small. Breakfasts and dinners were good and the lounge/dining room was a comfortable place to relax after riding. It was great value for the money. "Paul and his wife are lovely and breakfast is fine. The problem is the hotel is cold and people are getting sick. The coughing from both adjoining walls was really horrible. The problem is the central heating is broken (how long for?) and only heating is small split system reverse cycle air conditioners in each room and 2 portable gas heaters in dining and one in lounge. This is ok for spring or summer but not -10c Hakuba winter. Paul did bring me Kerosene portable heater (can run 3 hours only...
