"The Clifton is an old hotel but has been decorated throughout to give it a clean and modern appearance. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was on the 1st floor but would have asked for a higher floor to be a better sea view. The furniture was dated but clean and abundant. "Ok so I did say I’d never stay here again, however as it was such short notice when we decided to go to Southport our usual hotel was fully booked so decided to try here again but booked an executive room on the hope that it would be just that. Unfortunately it was a very plain room with no amenities as such, only 1 small bath towel which had a brown stain on it plus 1 hand towel and no bath mat. I called at reception for another towel.
