Top Minamikoma District Hotel Reviews

Kasuitei Ohya
10/10 Excellent
"Amazing place to stay I can’t wait to come back. Nothing negative even if I tried to think of it. As soon as I arrived the staff were so accommodating and helpful showing me my room and explaining amenities. I had a supper in my room and they explain everything provided. The included breakfast was delicious. The private room onsen and private baths also incredible. It was so clean. The dress robes and pajamas provided also so lovely. Spacious room. Great view of the lake and view or Mt Fuji from a public balcony. As a solo female travelling I felt very safe here. They also pick you up and drop you off at the bus loop! You won’t regret coming here!"

Fujisan Onsen Hotel Kaneyamaen
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent stay at a beautiful property with gorgeous grounds. Check-in was wonderful and the attention to detail throughout the hotel is outstanding. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and truly make you feel welcomed. No detail goes unnoticed here. My only comment would be regarding the shuttle pick-up process from the bus station. It can feel very chaotic, and the hotel only allows phone calls for arranging pick-up rather than email communication. Not every traveler has access to a working phone while abroad, so it can be inconvenient having to ask the tourist information desk to call on your behalf when there are already hundreds of travelers seeking assistance. Other than that, I genuinely have nothing bad to say about this property. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay again."

HOTEL MYSTAYS Fuji Onsen Resort
10/10 Excellent
"We had a fantastic stay at HOTEL MYSTAYS Fuji Onsen Resort. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful, spoke excellent English, answered all of our questions, and provided detailed directions, recommendations, and helpful tips that really enhanced our Mt. Fuji experience. Waking up to stunning Mt. Fuji views from our room was absolutely amazing and one of the highlights of our trip. This was also one of the few hotels we found that could accommodate 4 people in one room with a guaranteed Mt. Fuji view, which was a huge plus for us. The location is excellent, the staff were wonderful, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend HOTEL MYSTAYS Fuji Onsen Resort to anyone visiting the Mt. Fuji area."

"Beautiful property with a beautiful view."

Toyoko Inn Fuji Kawaguchiko Ohashi
6/10 Okay
"Not what we were expecting (it was really big which is not the type of place we normally stay) but if you are just having a couple of nights it is fine. Good shuttle bus service to the station which you can use to get to ''town'' and then wander back through bars/restaurants for the evening. Close to lake front and bridge to get great early morning views of the mountain. Convenience stores close by. Breakfast is very cafeteria style but more than adequate to set you up for the day out. Rooms are small so this is for people who will be out and about. Would be good for groups as you can have shared meals in the breakfast area at other times of the day."

"We were in the water melon house, and it was very hot inside. Air conditioner couldn’t fix that problem."

"very well run with onsen, restaurants and transportation"

Hotel Mt. Fuji
2/10 Terrible
"Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The reception staff could neither speak nor understand basic English, which made the check-in process extremely difficult and stressful. Even when using Google Translate, communication remained a challenge, as the translated messages in their own language were still not properly understood, and we were repeatedly passed between staff members without resolution. The concierge desk was consistently unattended, and we received no assistance with arranging local tours or even obtaining basic information such as bus routes or an English map of the area. Due to the language barrier, we were also unable to make restaurant or bar reservations through the hotel. The room itself was very small and dated, with shabby décor that did not meet expectations. The bathroom was in particularly poor condition. Most concerning was the shower temperature control, which appeared to be stuck at 40°C, resulting in dangerously hot water without warning. When this issue was reported, instead of repairing or properly assessing the problem, the staff simply suggested that we move to another room while leaving our luggage behind in the original room, which felt both impractical and unprofessional. Overall, the lack of communication, poor maintenance, and limited guest support significantly affected our experience."
