"Staff is great. Family-style breakfasts and dinners were wonderful. Rooms/casitas are nice, hotel overall is lovely. Location is good and bad. Great proximity to isolated beach. Road to the hotel is very slow, bumpy, and pothole-ridden. 4x4 highly recommended and the road wil add 20 minutes a each way to your trip in and out of the hotel, so plan accordingly. "

"The room was very clean and nice, although there was a big crack under the door so a lot of little critters could come in which was kinda cute with the exception of a scorpion that stung my boyfriend. Zayro was very communicative and friendly. The pool was also very clean and private which was great. My biggest gripe is the drive there is about 20 minutes of very bumpy off-roading which we were not made aware of. There is also no cell service on this road so if you get stuck with a flat tire,...

"Beautiful rainforest property with good birding opportunity, birds song, cicadas, and frogs, but "touristy", so the natural vibe gets ruined. It seems they cater to tour groups, so not very private or queit. Have to pay for 3 meals a day but on their schedule that's too late for serious birding and not as healthy as I'd prefer. I travel solo and do not enjoy sitting by myself or wasting time I could be out finding birds sitting in a restaurant. I go ut birding before daybreak so, lunch as late...

"Luna Lodge is a simply remarkable place to be and not just explore, but join, the jungle. There’s a sense of beautiful surrender found there, beginning with the trek to the lodge itself. "Everything was wonderful. The room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The staff was great. Extremely attentive and friendly. It was our 56th wedding anniversary and they sent a nice chachuterie board to our room. Every evening the maid came by with a sweet treat for each room. The property is very nice and right on the bay. Very relaxing atmosphere . I would definitely consider returning to the Amaka Lodge "
