"This is a 3-star property in a 5-star location. We stayed 5 nights in a king suite and enjoyed the views and the sound of the surf, plus the easy parking and ease of beach access. We were surprised by how quiet the property was, but I guess that depends on who is staying there at the time. We were fortunate, although there was someone who smoked on their balcony and we had to come inside and close up the doors (not the hotel's fault). "This is a great space. The home dates back to 1889, on a street with homes that date back that far or further. The decor is hippie/chic, it’s welcoming, warm, friendly. The location is awesome, historic downtown Wilmington is yours for the taking. I would highly recommend it and I would stay here again if I can."

"This is a great value for a beach front stay. No frills. Nothing fancy. But it was clean and quiet. The parking is limited to one car per room; When I called ahead to ask about a solution to brining two cars, the clerk simply said “well you’re just going to have to cancel” I said, “no ma’am, my problem solving skills are better than that” and realized there’s paid parking directly in front of the hotel for the general public-problem solved. I paid $30/day to park my car there."

"Wonderful location, room was clean other then the carpet was pretty dirty (not noticable unless you go barefoot)We put out used towels every day and received new ones quickly. The pool was nice but it had no net to clean it. The room had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay. "
