The only downside to our stay was a slight problem with the room. This was acknowledged and apologised for and an offer of a 20% reduction if we revisited. Everything else was excellent and the accommodation package booked through Expedia was very good value , including Castle entrance,garden viewing and a fantastic breakfast. The staff were friendly, efficient and enthusiastic.

We were in an upstairs room and the view was stunning! The room was plush with a four poster bed that was very comfortable. The whole experience of staying in the grounds of the stately home was great - especially as free access comes with the room. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of cooked and continental. We also had Dinner in the castle - the food was good and it was fun having a private dinner party with people we did not know. Need to book in advance direct with the hotel though!

Wonderful place to stay if visiting albatross sanctuary or just for the experience of staying at the castle. We stayed in a lodge with a sea view . Decor was in-keeping with the castle and beds were comfortable. We had a tour of the castle included in our nightly rate which was interesting and before check-in we ate in the cafe where the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming Highly recommend.

Excellent in every way! Room spotless, cute and comfortable, every staff member we had dealings with was warm, friendly, helpful and professional. Food excellent, we booked the dinner experience and also the breakfast was extremely good. An awesome experience!

Our room in the Lodge had amazing views and a beautiful bathroom and great size. The staff were so lovely and helpful. We loved looking around the grounds well looked after beautiful views. The Castle was my highlight will definitely be back again.

The staff were genuinely wonderful, the location and gardens are beautiful, the views are breathtaking, and the breakfast was truly excellent. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment came from the actual room. For a hotel charging $400 a night, the accommodations were well below average outdated, cramped, and lacking basic amenities. I understand they’re aiming for a period-accurate aesthetic to match the castle’s charm, but there’s a difference between “historic” and simply worn out. When the chair has no cushion or springs left, and the bed isn’t much better, it stops feeling authentic and starts feeling neglected. Overall, despite the lovely setting and great staff, the room quality just doesn’t justify the price. Not worth the hard-earned money.

Stunning location. Excellent breakfast. Rooms are tiny! Booked a dinner in the castle which was great. Had booked for me and my son who is 13. Even though I asked for one adult and one child (states on the website age requirements), they still simply charged for two adults. Apart from that, it was great!

Das Zimmer 25 in der Lodge ist schön, vor allem der Ausblick. Die Einrichtung des Zimmers ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber noch gut. Das Higlight war das 4 Gänge Abendessen im Musikzimmer des Schlosses. Ein sehr schönes Erlebnis im Abiente des Sclosses.

The lodge was such an incredible place to stay! It was very beautiful and the staff was incredible. The free breakfast in the morning was to die for and the staff there was very accommodating and gave me an extra meal for the next day, since I had to leave early and wouldn’t have been able to make breakfast on the morning I was checking out. I also did the dinner in the castle and it was super cool! My room was a corner room, so I had a balcony that overlooked the garden, as well as the ocean, which was amazing, especially at sunrise. Overall, I highly recommend staying at the lodge, as it was well worth my time and money. Just be aware that it’s not near any stores, so be prepared for that, especially if you don’t have a rental car. And plan any Ubers in advance.

Really fun to stay at a castle! Ok, not actually in the castle but on the grounds. Staff were excellent and the supper in the castle dining room was lovely.
