"This small older motel was excellent for the price! The room was clean and appeared to be recently updated with fresh paint. The bath tub was stained but not dirty. Linens were clean. It was quiet and close to the Eisenhower Memorial which was our reason for visiting Abilene. The TV service/channel selection was good. We would definitely stay there again! Compared to similar motels we have stayed at, Diamond would rank at the top and receive 5 stars! The only reason for 4 stars is for those travelers who expect the Ritz for the price of the Diamond."

"We stayed in the caboose for a night heading up to Iowa from AZ. It was just as expected and more. Cute small space with all the amenities youd need for a short stay. Very quiet location off the main road in a heavily treed area outside of town. It was super cool sleeping in an actual caboose. There is a main house a short distance away that can be rented as well. The owner left us a gift card for a coffee shop she owns and that was fantastic as well. Paid for our whole breakfast order! She was super friendly and helpful when Expedia dropped the ball getting us the door code for the second day in a row. You can read all about that on Google. Highly recommend this caboose for a short stay. The rental also comes with access to the country clubs amenities like golf course access, gym and pool."
