"Spent one night at the Patra Bali in between flights to/from other countries. Chose it for its proximity to the airport. Seemed close enough to be able to walk, but the airport has no sidewalks, and the flow of traffic is restricted by fences and barriers, so we paid the 55k rupiahs for the taxi to the airport the next day. The property was lovely. We had a beautiful, spacious room on the upper level of the building. The enormous swimming pool and fun pool bar were only a few steps away, as was the Italian restaurant. This hotel would have gotten a five-star rating, except for a couple of personnel interactions that were frustrating and not efficient. We were expecting a local friend to join Us at restaurant for dinner. Somehow, the staff seemed almost unable to comprehend that we were not a party of two, that we did not want to order food before our friend arrived, or that we needed a 3rd place setting at the table. The dinner service was drawn out, but the food all came eventually and correctly, except for the coconut, which had to be requested several times. At check-out the next morning, a large family arrived to check in just as we approached the reception desk. The single employee on duty did not acknowledge me or make an effort to request assistance. After about 7 minutes, I asked a passing employee for help, which resolved the issue. Breakfast buffet was good, although overly heavy on Asian dishes. All-in-all, I would definitely stay here again."
