"The Sunrock Guesthouse is a beautiful peaceful oasis very close to the airport. The grounds are meticulously maintained. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. When you stay, sign up for their evening buffet, as the food was absolutely delicious! Breakfast was included and also very good. We would for sure stay again if ever in Johannesburg."

"Being able to walk to the hotel from the airport after 16 hours on planes was great. Rooms are extremely clean. Dinner buffet heavy on meat but very reasonable price. Complimentary breakfast buffet good. And then an easy walk back to the terminals."

"We stayed here on an overnight lay over. The accommodations were fine. The staff was ok, neither friendly or unkind. The room was outdated but the bed was extremely comfortable and after traveling over 14 hours was a welcome delight. The food was good but the staff in the dining room was not helpful at all and seemed uninterested in being in a service position. We had a late dinner and breakfast there. The breakfast was more organized and staff more upbeat. The airport shuttle ran on time and the individuals running it were very helpful and friendly."

Nous avons apprécié le service offert par les employés de l'hôtel qui ont été très serviables avec nous lors de notre passage à l'hôtel. Le déjeuner était excellent avec beaucoup de variété. Les chambres sont de catégorie modeste, mais il ne manque de rien. Le service du transfert vers l'aéroport offert gratuitement a été très pratique pour nous."

"The hotel has strong potential and certain aspects of the stay were enjoyable. However, my second experience did not fully meet the standards expected of a 5-star property. A key concern was the attitude of some staff members. At times, reasonable requests and package inclusions were handled as though they were favors rather than services already paid for. In a premium hospitality environment, guests should feel welcomed and professionally accommodated when requesting entitled services. I also experienced difficulties with a simple water request, which despite follow-up, was never delivered. This reflected a lack of responsiveness and service ownership. More significantly, there was no internet access on both Saturday and Sunday. As I was travelling for business, this made it impossible to complete work commitments and had a direct impact on productivity. Reliable internet access is a basic expectation for business travellers, particularly at a 5-star hotel. The property itself has positive qualities, but the guest experience would benefit greatly from improved customer service consistency, proactive communication, and stronger attention to guest needs during service disruptions."
