"The room was not serviced on two days out of four - the reason given was that the housekeeper did not work those days. The restaurant was closed for evening meals at short notice. The entrance door was closed and locked early in the evening and my keys did not work on occasions."

I was in a top floor room on a very hot day, no air con, no fan and the window was prevented form owning more than an inch (I understand as there was a large drop on the other side). But the room should not be bookable when temperatures rise. A staff member found a fan but made me feel like an annoyance for asking for a fan or the availability of an alternative room. Janice cooks a mean omelette for breakfast and enjoyed my packed lunch. Lovely estuary walking and lots of nature reserves in the area. Would stay again if in the area."

"Bedroom was clean and modern, bathroom hadn’t been cleaned with marks on the floor along with hairs and flies in sink. Hot water wouldn’t turn on in bath, sink and kitchen sink. Big tv but no tv remote to go with it. No bin in any room."

"A unique Scottish hotel that is in the process of being renovated. Food was good and staff friendly, though reception appeared to be unstaffed. My room was one of the older ones so the renovation will be a big benefit but overall the hotel was great value and much better than an anonymous generic chain hotel."
