La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ely
10/10 Excellent
"During check-in, I was informed that we had a room in the main building but it was on the first floor. In the past, staying on the first floor at a pet friendly place has been hit or miss with cleanliness. When asked to move us to a second floor, the agent found a room in the adjacent building, at the end of the hall, next to the steps (no elevator, which she told us & we were fine with). Room was clean, spacious with a nice bathroom (and enough towels). Wall mounted AC controls & the room cooled nicely. We did not use the pool or other amenities as we were only there for one night (return from Great Basin NP). Breakfast had an ample selection with standard fare for this price point. Overall, we would stay at this hotel if passing through Ely again"
Copper Queen Hotel and Casino
8/10 Good
"This hotel is the epitome of not judging a book by its cover. One the outside, the hotel seems a little worn, but the rooms are well appointed, and clean. Another gem of this hotel is JD's Steak House upstairs. The food is locally sourced farm to table, and very good. The hotel also has a cocktail lounge that serves a decent drink."
White Pine Motel
10/10 Excellent
"The White Pine is a down home place. Not corporate at all. Yes, it is one of a kind and funky. It was all I needed. Friendly, quiet and reasonably priced on short notice."
