When I got there to check in the lady said I had to pay in cash, and then said their machine was down. I explained that I only had tap to pay and that I had just drove 17 hours. I asked why didn’t it say I had to pay in cash when I booked the room? Finally the lady let me into the lobby and amazingly the machine started working.

Nice place to stay

The best place to stay for us when we are in town Emporia, va. The on and off I-95 is excellent north or south bounded. The Truck stop is across the street within 2 minutes walking distance with a Huddle House and pizza restaurant. I stay here very often when traveling south. The hotel is within 10 minutes of Cracker Barrel one exit up or 301 north when the instate is backed up along with several often dinning establishments.

The staff was very nice. The room was dirty, the furniture old, a drawer missing out of the dresser. The door between the rooms had a broken lock. A woman approached me when I was outside the room and asked for a cigarette if I had anything to drink and money. I felt very unsafe.

It’ll do ..

This was our second stop here . The rooms and the hotel are old and dated but it is clean . The location feels very safe and is convenient to 95 . There is a Huddle House across the street . It’s older but still ok for a cheap overnight stay traveling on 95 . Pet friendly!

The place needs a MAJOR,MAJOR CLEANING smells like rodents,roaches or something the A c unit was filthy overall disgusting we were traveling driving from florida,stopped for some sleep but after about 3 hours we left we could not sleep the smell is overwhelming

For a low budget off the highway hotel this was clean, and a great location. However, the electrical system made a buzzing sound every few minutes all night long making sleep impossible. A hole in the bathtub was patched over with a plastic mat. Plenty of deferred maintenance. Also, no fresh coffee was available anywhere.

The property is very old and definitely needs updating. I had to unplug the microwave to plug in my phone charger. Duct tape on bottom of door to unit which was falling off. I had to push the door and lock it or it would swing open. Drapes dry rotting and furniture needs replacing. There are no restaurants close (unless you go to a truck stop across the road.)

No maintenance since 1956

Check in took 15 minutes as construction workers who were staying there a week at a time decided to pay in cash all ahead of me. No big deal, but room was beat when I finally got in. Major gaps in wall between A/C unit and sheet rock - had been filled in with caulk many times and still had about 1" gap. Walls were dirty and greasy looking. The whole place smelled like stale urine. After a 12 hour day on the road, I was too tired to try to find a better place. Bathroom was hard to tell if clean because the tub, sink and toilet were pretty chewed up and dinged. Tub faucet leaked all night, toilet clogged around 9:30, but when I called the front desk to borrow a plunger, there was no answer. About 10 flushes later it finally sort of worked. Bed was pretty hard. Towels and sheets were thin, but clean. The outside is much more inviting than the rooms themselves. Looks like a cool old mom & pop motel, but it hasn't been updated or maintained in any way that I can see for 50 odd years. Cheap, convenient to the highway, but beat and questionably clean.

Not bad for an easy sleep. There’s nothing in the area nobody Ubers or DoorDash is to the hotel but if you need a quick night sleep, it’s not bad for the price.

Check i was quick and smooth. When we arrived to tue room the door was unlocked. The bed was made but the top comforter was obviously not clean due to the fact it was gritty. The shower curtin was not attached to the wall. No matter what faucet you were turning on you were practically pulling the plumming out of the wall.

Clean, comfortable, friendly staff

Check in was quick and easy. The room was clean, no odor, and appeared to have been updated recently although it is definitely an older style motel. The room suited my needs for an overnight stay perfectly though. Everything in the bathroom worked and was clean. The bed was comfortable. The only issue I had, albeit a minor one is the temp regulation was inconsistent from the SC/heater unit. It worked fine but I could get a consistent temp so I'd wake up either too hot or too cold at times. To be fair, the weather was a bit uncooperative also, and that, I am sure, contributed. Overall, if all you need is a quick overnight stay this is a great place. Easy in, easy out convenience store across the street, and a clean comfortable room. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was for such a low cost. Can't ask for much more than that.

The room was kind of dirty. Cig burn in the sheets. Everything was old. I found a Walmart receipt on a shelf in plain sight that was over a year old. Walls were paper thin. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
