Waste of money

This hotel is very dirty..the shower and sink was not clean there was alot of dirt and hair in the shower.Carpet was very filthy and needed shampooing..my husband woke up in the middle of night to use the bathroom when he returned there was a bug on his pillow.We will not return to this hotel

Trash from previous person. Used condoms on the floor. Stains on the floor. Flickering lights. I know not to expect but so much from a motel 6 but this was... terrible.

Horror show with used condoms and bugs

Used condoms on the bed at check in. Holes in the wall. Dirty linens on unmade bed. Bio hazards on the floor. Roaches in the shower. Cigarette butts extinguished and left on the wood furniture. Door locks and key did not functions - was told to call front desk to get in room Several of us booked a block of 7 rooms. Between them only one was usably clean.

Turkey day in paradise

Affordable. Served its purpose, but nothing to brag about. Not as clean as I would have liked. I felt like I needed to wash my feet in the sink after taking a shower in their tub with a filthy, moldy tub mat. No ice machine. Curtains were falling off the window because the rods were hung improperly. Had 2 full size beds. The one we initially decided to sleep on had a headboard that fell off when we leaned back against it to watch tv. The other one was ok. The remote was funky. Of course it doesn't have a guide button, so you can't see what's on, at what time, or which channel. Not sure why, but several other hotels/motels we stayed at didn't have that feature either. Not crowded, so that was good. Spent a few days Thanksgiving weekend with my bf. I guess we'd probably go back, since the price was right and it was close to our family.

Mistake

Besides being greatly in need of a remodel, the room was a bit musty, water damage to ceiling, cigarette burns on bathtub, drain plug removed, carpets unraveling, not vacuumed, busted lampshades, beds that sag in the middle (though did appear to be clean), sheets with at least one hole in it, no moulding, and I could go on. I can say it did have hot water, cold A/C, a TV that worked, Fridge and Micro that were ok, and some internet.

This review is not against the Lake Gaston Inn. I was charged as a "No show" by the hotel. They said the reservation was made thru Expedia. The only notification that I received from Expedia was a email asking about the "No show". I do not remember making this reservation and if I did why didnt I get any emails saying so. BAD EXPEDIA!!!

Definitly not a clean place. Room smelled weird, luckily i always carry air freshner when i travel. had to kill a wasp and a spider 2 minutes after walking into our room. The tub didnt drain properly until you were out of shower. If your looking for a nice place near the lake this isnt it! If your just passing thru and staying one night looking for a cheap hotel then here ya go. The woman at the front desk was nice. The carpet was old and dingie and had rolls in it. The only perk of this place is that it was cheap. Definitely get what you pay for.

Enjoyable and inexpensive

This hotel is great spot to stay if you are a fisherman, or a small family looking to visit with folks in the area. Inexpensive, somewhat older; but not trashy. Clean rooms, and unlike many other cheap motels.not infested with bugs, drugs or prostitution.

the Gaston Inn was perfect as far as location for the fishing tournament we participated in on Lake Gaston. The price was excellent and teh parking was perfect for traveling with a boat. I was not pleased with the bathroom cleanliness. It had obviously not been thoroughly cleaned. The room itself also was unkept. The fridge was not clean. For a quick, cheap hotel, I would just have like to see the room more clean.

ok for the price

For the cheap taste, i guess the place was ok. The exteriors are in terrible repair, rusty stairs and walls needing pointing or paint. I think the room was actually clean, though I found two disused guitar strings and one ball-end on the floor by the bed! The receptionist attended to me amidst sniffles and sneezes, obviously down with a bad cold which i hope i didn't get. She had no useful information about decent restaurants in the area. Fortunately I only had to stay one night.
