"The property was in terrible condition. The pillows and linens were old. The elevator was out of service for our entire visit. The heater was old and LOUD. It would kick on multiple times a night and wake me up. We barely had hot water to take a shower. The water pressure was terrible. I ended up going to the rec center to take a shower because of the water issue. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. They had Captain Crunch and warm milk. The coffee tasted like tar. I brought my concerns to the front desk, but nothing was done. They said since I booked through a 3rd party, there wasn't anything they could do. I was VERY disappointed, and I will not be returning. "

"I don’t write reviews, but felt obligated to do so after one night stay there. Not sure why this place has a reasonably good rating. Receptionist was very unwelcoming at the front desk. She rudely made us wait 5-10 minutes with little or no response while finishing something else on the computer with no one else even in the lobby. After a few minutes of silence waiting at the front desk, her first words were “hold on”. Once in room, we checked mattresses for cleanliness, and found what appeared to be bed bug remains (black dots) on a corner of one mattress. Also, the carpet adjacent to bottom frame of bed and behind the bed looked like it hadn’t seen a vacuum brush for quite some time. Misc debris, crumbs, small pieces of potato chips, and a few different types of med pills had found a safe haven there. Since we’d been traveling all day and didn’t actually see any bugs, we decided to stick it out for the night, but brought our bags back out to car and placed any remaining belongings in the empty tub. On the positive side, the beds and pillows were comfortable, bathroom was clean, and we didn’t have any bug bites in the morning. However, breakfast offering was very minimal and not appealing. The oranges & apples in bowl looked like they could have been there a week. Thankfully the waffle maker worked, although we did have to turn it on. "

"Wanted to love this stay because the town itself was amazing, but unfortunately we were disappointed the moment we stepped into this property. It was never disclosed that the pool would be closed, but I could have looked past that. What I could not overlook was the condition of the hotel due to construction. The lobby was being used as construction storage, and it appeared that nearly 95% of the hotel was under renovation. There were construction materials and debris throughout the property, and the smell was overwhelming. I honestly don’t understand how the hotel is allowed to remain open in this state. After a long day of traveling, we stayed because it was the only hotel available nearby, but I regret that decision. Since leaving, both my children and I have experienced health issues, including asthma flare-ups. I truly realized how unsafe the conditions were when walking to breakfast and my son tripped over debris in the hallway. The staff were unfortunately not helpful and offered no apology or understanding. Instead, they suggested we should have stayed in our car if we were unhappy. I travel frequently and have never experienced conditions or customer service this poor. A complaint has been filed with the Board of Health, as I do not believe this hotel should be operating while in this condition. Photos have been attached."

"Our family was in town for a couple of hockey games of our grandson. All the staff members that assisted us were very friendly and cheerful. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable. "

"One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at, truthfully! We were treated like royalty, our room was clean (and upgraded for free thanks to the lovely man that checked us in!), and honestly even the breakfast was fabulous. 1000% recommend! We were so surprised to find this gem of a hotel and its staff tucked away in tiny Killdeer, ND. Thank you💗 -Emerald & Ron"
