Puffin Inn of Anchorage

2/10 Terrible

"When the shuttle bus arrived, I thought, uh oh. It was so run down and completely filthy with torn seats and trash on the floor. However, the bus driver was nice. The front office lady was probably the rudest and unwelcoming person I have ever had to interact with. She was so put out by our even showing up. Talk about a Karen, she fits the bill. The place is run down, dirty and cold. Our room was a white brick building and felt like I was inside a brick fireplace that had been painted white. The room was so small the bed hardly fit and the sink was at the foot of the bed. There was no luggage stand so that had to be put on the floor. I would never stay here again. I wish I could give it a minus score."

"Cute hotel, staff are so nice and the property clean. Good location. Restaurant and bar good food, kitchen very slow to get food out. We were given a handicap accessible room (we didn’t need!) just be aware there is no room for your toiletries/makeup as it is just a sink in the bathroom. And the room temp never got below 72 even though it was set lower. I will say maintenance tried to help with this, but to no avail. Hotel has train on one side and busier street on the other, so rooms are noisy."
