"House not cleaned properly, plug socket in middle bedroom hanging off wall, tv aerial cables hanging out wall in kitchen at fridge,leaking radiator in kitchen - reported to owner/management company on day 1 of holiday - no response. Had to put newspapers down to dry floor up, wall crumbling in corner of kitchen, paint flaking off numerous walls & in poor state of decoration. Have stayed in many holiday cottages which were all of much better standard - I would not recommend this cottage."

"Excellent room, we had an executive suite and the view was marvellous as was the huge four poster bed. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best we've had, proper cumberland sausages - what can I say!. Staff were also excellent especially Joanne the manager who went above and beyond to make our 4 night stay very enjoyable. We had 2 meals in the hotel pub and again the food was of a very high standard, one meal was a sunday roast which I found absolutely superb. Will definitely stay here...

"The staff were attentive to our needs. We ate there on the second night of our stay. They food was lovely and hot when served. We did not wait for too long from ordering to getting our food. There were limitations on what we could have both on the food and drink side due to delivery issues. My and I were are aware that there was music being played when we went to bed, but I did not really interfere with us getting to sleep. Eat plugs were provided which my wife used. "We have stayed here a few times in the past but not for about three years now. Sadly, we were very disappointed . The service used to be exceptional. I asked for a quiet room as we are very light sleepers - we were kept aware by the kitchen fan at the back of our room and the noise from the reception desk. We had lunch there and the prawn skewers were bland and tasteless. The breakfast buffet selection was poor, however the hot meals were very good. The service was dire, staff were stood around...

"Because it’s an old property there isn’t enough plug sockets in the room & trying to do my hair without a mirror by a socket & somewhere to sit was pretty impossible So if your not bothered with this it’s a fine place to stay Missed fresh fruit at breakfast "

"I liked so much of it. Draw back for me as a 62 yr old woman travelling alone was the dining experience. Both at dinner and breakfast I was put in the middle of the room where I felt vulnerable. I did say something but they said it was what they had available. I did book a month or two ago so this wasn’t a last minute thing.
