"The cabin was spacious and clean. The shower was right across from the sink which was a little weird. Overall, it worked ok. Definitely on the rustic side. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ate dinner at their restaurant and got soup, pasta, and bacon burger. It was all delicious. Ate breakfast there in the morning and it was also good and convenient."

"Guesthouse in a rather remote location, nearest town seems to be Egilsstaðir and that's a half-hour drive away. Self check-in, you are given a code to access your room key. Breakfast is included. Staff kindly ask guests to not wear shoes in the house. Rooms are rather cramped, but clean, beds were comfy and curtains were blackout. Ambiance is somewhat lacking, the view is okay from the outside but there was construction right next to the house. Okay stop for the Ring Road for one night but...

"This was our favorite place of the 7 places we stayed. The setting is beautiful! The rooms are great and have such beautiful views with one whole wall being windows! We didn't use it but appreciate there was a golf cart they let you use to transport your luggage to your room. Breakfast was perfect! Location was perfect, close to hiking and a small town."

"The rooms were clean, but a little too warm. We slept with the window open to make it more comfortable. The kitchen was useful but missing a freezer. We had ice pack we were trying to keep frozen. Overall, it was a really nice place."

"We had booked Stóra Sandfell Rooms and Cottages for two nights but ended up staying only one. The setting is very peaceful and quiet, surrounded by woods, and it was different from the other places we stayed along the Ring Road. The kitchen was nice to have, and I can see how the patio and grill would be lovely in better weather, though the rain kept us from really enjoying those. The cabin has a rustic cottage feel, which some travelers may really enjoy. My daughter had been excited to sleep...

"Pro: guests cleaned up after themselves all the spaces were clean. Shoes off at the door you have to switch into indoor slippers. Very well equipped shared kitchen. Didn't have to wait long to use bathrooms/showers since there were multiple. Convenient location to shops and restaurants. Con: way too noisy. Even though we had our own room it felt like a true hostel. Might as well pay more if you're looking for good rest. The heavy doors will slam shut every few minutes and it's not soundproof....
