"We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and the duvet and pillows were comfortable. The full breakfast was great and we loved the waffles. The location is right off the I5 which is very convenient, and they're only minutes away from Carlsbad Village. You can hear the I5 when you are outside, but the room was amazingly quiet, and we didn't hear it at all. All of the staff were very friendly."

"Horrible property. Had my daughter and wife with me on a trip to San Diego. Lots of commotion and sketchy people at the establishment. Booked for two nights but only stayed one due to the environment and having my daughter with me. Management ensured me I would be refunded for the second day which was nice, but then I called both the establishment and Expedia and neither would honor the refund. Glad to be out of that area. "This hotel is way overpriced for what it offers. The room didn't even have a coffee maker or complimentary bottled water, which you would expect at this price point.
The bed squeaked and made noise every time I moved, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep.
To make matters worse, the room wasn't clean when I arrived. For the amount they charge, I expected much higher standards of cleanliness, comfort, and basic amenities.
I definitely would not stay here again and cannot recommend...

"Moonlight Beach Motel is exactly as it advertises. The room was clean; the beds were comfortable, and the location deserves a score of 15/10. It is 3 blocks from Moonlight Beach and a very short walk into Encinitas. The location was also safe and quiet. We had a room with a small kitchen, so we were able to make breakfast and have coffee in the room. They have a lovely patio area where we grilled hotdogs and played games. They provide boogie boards and beach chairs, if you want to use them....

"One of the worst rooms we ever stayed in. There was no refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot only one roll of toilet paper. when the door was shut, there was a space that you could put papers through and see through it not safe at all. The lock didn’t seem very safe either. When you sat or lay down on the bed, all you could hear was the springs underneath squeaking. There was no breakfast except for package, tiny blueberry muffins, and granola bars . Best of all they did not have any ice or ice...
