"The hotel is quite old. On the positive side, the breakfast is decent, and there is a beautiful path along the waterfront where you can go for a walk. You can also rent a boat for a trip around the fjord. On the downside, the room is very small, and the bathroom is the smallest I have ever seen. The ice cream at the bar is stored in a refrigerator together with lemons and some other things that I couldn’t identify. I would not recommend getting it. "I was a bit hesitant about the Laerdal Hotel because the reviews weren’t great, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was perfectly fine, with a beautiful view of the lake, and it was incredibly quiet outside. The walls were thin, so you could sometimes hear the neighbours, but with earplugs it wasn’t an issue. Breakfast was alright, nothing special, but the buffet dinner was excellent, with a wide choice of fish, meats, and fresh salads. Definitely a positive stay."

"Great location, and beautiful location. Only complaint is that I had a nut allergy scare, as a certain item in the restaurant menu did not fully specify an item that had nuts. Just a heads up for those who have severe food allergies. The hotel was apologetic on the same, and did a courtesy waive of the costs. Very pricey room rates, which makes sense for where it's located. Otherwise, a decent experience."
