Beautiful property with elegant rooms. Rooftop restaurant is lovely with an attentive staff. The outdoor area was not open for full service due to the time of year, but looked very nice for a visit in the warmer seasons. If coming in on the train as we did - you can't beat the location - convenient to all the sites of Florence.

The hotel was conveniently located for exploring the area, and its proximity to the main station made it very easy to get around. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that there were quite a few stairs within the hotel facilities, which was a bit challenging when travelling with children and a lot of luggage.

Hotel Baglioni is conveniently located right by the train station and the T2 tram to/from the airport. It is a short walk from the Duomo and the surrounding attractions. The hotel has a lot of old world charm and comfort. Staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was very good. It is a large hotel with many rooms so the breakfast room can feel crowded. The view of the Duomo from the breakfast room on the 5th floor is incredible. I would definitely stay here again.

My family was impressed with the staff especially Davide at the front desk and the restaurant staff for breakfast. Alessandro was amazing and flawless and cared for us each day. Donatella and the other servers were wonderful. The options were terrific…and tasted great. The only negative is the disparity between the rooms conditions and amenities. The single room needed painted and was tight—especially for spending $2500 for one week. The other rooms my family had were great and they had surprise extras.

Our stay at Grand Hotel Baglioni was nothing short of perfection. The staff were helpful and our room was clean. We had our complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us after a long travel. The hotel location was important to us as we wanted a stay at place that we could have access to the main sites. The hotel is literally across Santa Maria Novella train station. It’s a short walk to the Duomo, shops, cafe, grocery store (Conad) and even a self-serve laundry.

My only complaint was there were no power sockets at both bedside cabinets which is very unusual as needed for charging phones, cameras etc, had to unplug tv on sideboard opposite bed to use socket and also buy a travel adapter as there was no usb port, there was one thankfully in bathroom for styling tong, bedroom was very dated.
