On site dining was just average. But price was high. The resort was very nice and had a very nice beach area and the pools were great as well. If you like seclusion. It’s a good place to go.

Loved the resort, front desk wasn’t very informative, that was frustrating, as we had to call multiple times with questions. But they compensated us with 200$ off the resort fees upon checkout. I would definitely go back. But book on the beach side because the complex is over 300 acres & lots of walking. You can rent golf carts but parking is restricted in certain areas. Restaurants a block away are great!!!!

Felt like they weren’t fully staffed. There wasn’t a lot of vibes of merriment even though they have great amenities to do so. Allison at Flippers was very nice and enjoyable. Gigi at Beach House was very sweet and we enjoyed her service but have to say we had told the restaurant that it was our 35th wedding anniversary and felt that was somewhat not acknowledged. Yes they gave us dessert and that was kind and we weren’t expecting anything but just felt our reservation could have been made to feel more celebrated. After all, we could have gone to so many other restaurants but chose your resort. It’s the little things that make a milestone memorable. Also as a non drinker the NA beer options and in general at South Seas were lacking. As a bar mgr I saw great potential but didn’t see that mgmt capitalized off all they have in amenities.

Website is deceiving, this is not a resort like advertised. It is individually owned places managed by a resort. You have to come prepared with food and water. Getting towels at pools by the condos were a constant problem. The views were beautiful and lots of great wildlife to enjoy watching.

Overall it is a nice place and convenient for local travel. I really think the $40 per person per day resort fee is outrageous. A lot of the place is privately owned or under construction. Your resort fee gets you towels and a chair at the beach, access to a small water park. A shuttle and WiFi. It would be more honest to raise the daily rate and drop the fee. One timer for us and can’t recommend it to others.

My kids and I just got home from a spring break trip to South Seas. At first, I was a bit frustrated as I had asked for a crib/pack and play a week prior and I had to chase one down. Additionally, the floors of our condo weren't clean and no one addressed it. However, the hospitality and amenities otherwise were incredible. I felt comfortable being there with my kids and they had a blast. Our room overlooked the bay, which provided beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We had plentiful space and there was so much to do. My daughter never got tired of the pools, beach, and restaurants. I would stay here again!

Overall the resort was great. I will not that the first bay villa they put us in was lacking updating and was not like the pictures. They do have a messaging app so I was able to reach out right away and they moved us to an updated unit within the hour. The resort is pretty spread out so you will need to use your car to drive around or rent a golf cart. We were thankful that we had a car. There are many restaurants that are very good. The water park was great and we loved being able to have chairs, umbrellas and towels at the beach provided by the resort. The northern beach access did have a cart girl as well that you could buy drinks off of. There was no cart service at the lower beach access. There’s quite a bit of construction going on at the resort which means there is a lack of parking so it’s something to note if you are going there with a family and have children. I would imagine this would change in the next year or so but just something to note.

This is a 3 Star resort charging 4-5 Star prices, including a $40 resort fee per person, which is pretty high for a place under construction, without good walking paths, and charging very high prices for all food and drinks. Our floors had been swept, but not mopped - my feet got filthy walking barefoot in our room and I had to wash them just to get into bed. The beach is very nice, the pools are very nice, the staff is very nice, but overall, we had a mediocre experience and would not recommend this to our friends.

The floors of our room were filthy, and all the cushions of the couches and chairs were stained. We asked for extra sheets and put those over the couch before sitting or it. Floors were never mopped and there were dust bunnies in all the corners. Kitchen was ok, but non stick pans were heavily scratched so we couldn’t use them. Can’t beat the beach view and the overall atmosphere of Captiva island. The accommodations by south seas were not up to par with what some other HOAs in south seas island can offer. I’d rather have a time share in another HOA in south seas and give up the amenities than stay in the south seas units again.

The property was very quiet, which it was great for me and my family, we needed it! We were able to celebrate my child's 14th birthday with what he likes the most, the beach and the pool and of course, food!

Our unit need a lot of attention. The property has much more construction going on still - more that they explained when I called to check. Somehow we got checked in before we even arrived, which was concerning. The app for activities gives very little info and the employees don’t have any knowledge of them either- we couldn’t figure out where to go for our kayak excursion. The water sports employee that helped us when we finally found the area was AWESOME though- super nice and friendly and helpful and knowledge. I grew up going to Sanibel/Captiva so I’ve been a lot in 47 years. They are doing great at rebuilding on the islands, but South Seas needs some better management and still has a ways to go before construction will be complete.

Our initial room was a small, dark room in a Villa by the marina overlooking mangroves which was not beachfront as booked. We were successfully relocated to a much nicer golf course townhome that was on the beach for the next 3 nights. Unfortunately, we had to move again for our last night and it was another dark, narrow Villa that at least overlooked the beach. We complained about the need to empty overflowing trash underneath the 2nd place we stayed at and it was never fully removed. We also had delays in getting beach umbrellas and beach lounge chairs delivered. The fitness room was excellent; clean and well-appointed. In general, hospitality staff were friendly and cordial but service was generally mediocre.
